I second your findings. Just got back last night from a trip to Moab/Canyonlands running Lockhart Basin and Elephant Hill. I also run MetalCloak skids (motor, tranny, fuel) plus the Rock Hard muffler skid and Ironman rock rails. I have a non-XR still running the stock 33's. Temps were mid 80's, we did have a breeze, 4LO for 20 miles at a time obstacle after obstacle, several times getting high centered with 3 of the 4 wheels in the air. Would not have enjoyed that trip had I not had MetalCloak protection and knowing how beefy those plates are. I must have banged the bottom 30 times or more this trip, and that was picking the best/only line. I still have to crawl under for a full analysis, but on quick inspection most hits were right in the middle (breakover spot) and that low exhaust spot up front where it crosses over. No temp issues. Crazy adder, got 20.1 mpg average driving back to Denver doing speed limit plus 5.
