Just came across these posts on Facebook 392 forum. I ask what year then then saw the answer 24-25 will ask why was beefed up. Also doesn’t seem these guys know who they are talking with
would like to know more about what was beefed up.

I haven't spoken to anyone directly but that's what I've seen from what I have gathered as well. I am thinking (hoping) the Sport combo would be more plug and play. Last time I dealt with electrical issues I was ready to burn it.Man, I don't know. Everyone that I have spoken to, that has put an Atlas in the 392, said it took several tries to get the computer right.
I know, I am afraid to access my Tazer now since my NoLimitz and Tazer work. I figure if I make changes with the Tazer, my NL may brick.I haven't spoken to anyone directly but that's what I've seen from what I have gathered as well. The guy that said it’s been upgraded on that post is Scott Blum the jeep wrangler brand manager so I’d say it’s pretty credibleAs popular as the MP3022 transfer case is, I imagine its only a matter of time before companies like Sonnax will start manufacturing parts for them. I have built many of super transmissions loaded with their high performance parts.
I do wish we could get some confirmation on if the 24/25 is truly been upgraded or if it's just typical internet BS.
I tried to have mine updated but it requires a certain code which mine didn't throw. In another thread in the FB group, Scott referenced a software update for 23 and older models. Has anyone had that TSB performed on their 23 or older 392? Although having beefed up hardware that worked in an older model would be nicer, I'm curious if anyone knows anything about the TSB for the software.
That was true for the early adopters but there are several shops who have done a number of these and have cracked the code on getting it right the first time now. You definitely need a Taser and the right DTCM to avoid earlier issues.I dont have an Atlas but it seems its pretty straightforward now with a Tazer and correct DTCM. Swap the DTCM, use the steps to have Tazer set "FullTcase" to no, set "DTCM" to yes, and then make sure FAD is set to no.
Edit: I had to do the same for my hybrid tcase with the tips from EbyCreek
Thats what my post says. It even says how. That was true for the early adopters but there are several shops who have done a number of these and have cracked the code on getting it right the first time now. You definitely need a Taser and the right DTCM to avoid earlier issues.
That's a lot of failures. I have a 24 with the referenced upgraded internals and I'm still on the fence about the Atlas. The FT case offers nice drivability on road but there's a question in the back of my mind about whether the clutch is delivering enough torque to the front wheels in extreme situations off road even if it doesn't ultimately fail. My decision to upgrade or not will come when I move to one ton axles and 40's. We'll see if I encounter any issues in the meantime with 37's. Either I'll keep it and go with RCV front shafts or go the Atlas route with traditional u-joints. There's a case to be made either way but three failures is 3 too many for sure.I have a 22. I am in my 3rd factory t case. I am on 42s, 14b rear super 60 front. I wheel mine pretty aggressively. I ordered an Atlas 3 weeks ago. Logical step for me for multiple reasons.
Sure, not disagreeing with your post. Just pointing out that several shops have been down this road successfully as an additional data point. It's a fairly involved swap that a lot of people will prefer to have done professionally. The early adapter required shortening the rear driveshaft by 4 inches which I'm told is no longer necessary with their latest offering. My local shop has done several Atlas upgrades successfully for customers but has chosen to keep the FT case in their well used shop 392 on 40's without incident.Thats what my post says. It even says how.
Had quite a few TC issues on my 22 until they did the software update. No issues sinceIn another thread in the FB group, Scott referenced a software update for 23 and older models. I have an early '21 392. After the failure of my T-case a couple of years ago. I heard about the software update which apparently holds the clutches firmer, so less slippage. My dealer installed that update and so far so good...knock on woodIn another thread in the FB group, Scott referenced a software update for 23 and older models. Just curious, what kind of TC issues were you experiencing before the software update? Thanks.Had quite a few TC issues on my 22 until they did the software update. No issues since
I was told the t-case motor burned out...Just curious, what kind of TC issues were you experiencing before the software update? Thanks.
