Beefed up transfer case 24-25

Just came across these posts on Facebook 392 forum. I ask what year then then saw the answer 24-25 will ask why was beefed up. Also doesn’t seem these guys know who they are talking with 🤣 would like to know more about what was beefed up.

Yep, 100% does not know who Scott B is… and I am glad to hear that they beefed up the Tcase. Any word on if it is backwards compatible?

My 2021 hasn’t had any problems and it’s a dedicated crawler on D70’s and 40”s. I don’t know what everyone else does… but I shift into 4w part time as soon as I’m on loose terrain and I drop into 4 low when I hit the rocks. Over 35k off road miles and I still don’t have a reason to buy an Atlas 🥺.

I ask him but if it was but I assume the response is it’s not worth the effort unless you have trouble then just go sport or atlas. I do the same if it’s not paved it’s in 4w part time.

The whole discussion was just interesting to me they modified it realizing there was a problem and who knew lol

I have an early '21, should I reframe from using the Tazer to turn off full time 4WD?

One of my hard wheeling buddies was telling me about the updated transfer case last week. He said it is not compatible with 23 and older Jeeps.

Now that brings up another interesting question, will this affect the 2WD mode the Tazer offers for the 392 for the 24/5 MY?

Plus, If Jeep only just upgraded the clutch pack (which BTW is out of the picture when in 2WD in the older transfer cases) why would you not be able to use the newer case in the older 392's? Lot's of questions here, lol

It's amazing how tight lipped Jeep is when they make upgrades (again if this is really true)

Just out of curiosity I did some part not surfing, the pre 2024 transfer case part number 68395037AC is listed for the pre 24 392 but that's it. Nothing for 24/25 so that's interesting, not even variation such as AD or AE. Humm.

Yep his response to if it’s backwards compatible was that you could swap the case but not sure what you could do about the software

Not that it means anything, but I have had warnings when wheeling with my '24, which I interpreted to mean the clutch packs were overheating. This was in Moab with the stock tires. Turning the Jeep off and on cleared the warning.

This is what I found for the 24/25. It's used for other models also.

Mp3022 Transfer Case - Mopar (68577455aa)

I was wondering if you could swap the module from a 24 similar to what you do when swapping to the sport TCASE
My gut tells me to eliminate the clutches altogether so I am certain that I will go with an Atlas.

I am finding that the shops near me haven't installed many on 392s and it doesn't seem to be a one and done situation.

Rather than an Atlas, I'm starting to think about building a hybrid T-case. Use the front half of the 392 T-case and mate it with the rear section of a MP1622C Sport T-case with 2:72 ratio. Also have to get a Rubicon transfer case control module. I understand this modified T-case can take anything you can throw at it torque wise. Much cheaper and easier to install than the Atlas.

I think, in the end, you only save 1500 bucks.

This is the way I’m leaning for now anyway when the time comes.

Is this way easier to get all the electronics to play nice together than atlas? Or is it about the same
Man, I don't know. Everyone that I have spoken to, that has put an Atlas in the 392, said it took several tries to get the computer right.
