I just picked this up, when you get the chance do you mind showing us what underneath the hood looks like.Double sided tape and underneath the hydroglide scoop to aux 4 where my other baja back lit amber lights are triggered.
Was wondering the same. Just took a look - 1001 routes, but would love to see/hear the route you took. Thanks!I just picked this up, when you get the chance do you mind showing us what underneath the hood looks like.
I assume you removed the hydro glide
Awesome - thanks for the info!Sorry I never took pics under the hood of mine, but the hydro guide has two main pieces, and the one big one fits over the other. You only have to remove the one piece that comes off first. There is a bunch of sound-deadening foam that's held to the underside of the hood using plastic pins, (the big pop-out kind), so I just popped a few of those off to route the wires underneath it before bringing them down to the base of the hood on the passenger side where they could be threaded into the engine bay near the battery. I opted to not wire them via the AUX switches and splice into the passenger side parking lamp so they'll be powered whenever my headlights or parking lights come on. To access the parking wires, you have to pull back some of the inner fender liner on the passenger front...more push pins. There are only 2 parking wires, one black, one white. Doesn't matter which order you splice in (or T-tap, etc.). I love the look of the lights...it's my fav useless mod so far!
I love it!!!!Thin LED strips glued to the upper part of the opening. Can't see the LEDs , just reflected light. View attachment 14728View attachment 14729

What light strip did you use? I had 3 led set from F150 Lights website and have replaced them 3 times in the last 4 months so I’m done trying to get them to work.

I used double sided heavy duty Gorilla tape on each light to the top of the hood scoop.Looks great, nice job. I’m considering similar/same. How did you secure each of the lights and to what did you attach them?
still waiting to find this out lol.How did you wire the light in your hood scoop without messing with the hydro guide system?
The hydro glide easily detaches expose that area. Just a few screws to loosen. I just ran mine down the left side on the battery side straight to the battery and aux switch wires. I used adhesive plastic C clips to secure the wire down the hood. Pretty simple overall.still waiting to find this out lol.
Take the hydro guide off (it comes off in one easy piece) and route the wires down along the underside of the hood. I used the 3M zip tie mounts to secure and route on hood and brought the wires out via the existing wire channel at the bottom of the hood above the firewall. Then route in the engine bay to wherever your ‘re sourcing power. I put mine on one of the aux switches. Make sure to leave enough slack for opening/closing the hood. Put the hydro guide back on and you’re good to go. The wires won’t interfere.still waiting to find this out lol.
Thank you, ordered these and the gorilla mount tape...Take the hydro guide off (it comes off in one easy piece) and route the wires down along the underside of the hood.
