Man, people find the dumbest shit to argue about. It's just nuts and bolts. Jeeps ( or any other vehicle) come, Jeeps go. And life goes on...
That was kind of my point. Not sure why this constantly becomes a point of contention.

IDC what peeps buy, but if you think you can “feel” the dif between an XR w/ 4.56, 35s and a 392 w/ 3.73, 33s, I have a ketchup popsicle to sell you in yo white gloves.

My Jeep was a standard 3.92. I’ve tuned, added 4.88s, exhaust, intake, throttle body, etc and it’s basically the same driving around. For sure there’s various metrics that would show improvement but “feel” ain’t gonna change that much.

You may wanna feel good based on whatever you’ve added or changed and that’s wonderful (I know I do), but it ain’t going further than you.

Add a supercharger or nitrous and that’s a different conversation.

Overall, it’s a pretty silly conversation on who can pay for what options vs availability.

Ok. Thanks for that. Super helpful.

If all the mods on Jeeps are only perceptibly felt by their owners, there sure is a lot of $ being wasted in the world of everything Jeep. 🤪

100%. It’s why peeps buy aftermarket coil packs, intakes, cat backs, etc, etc.

Feels good to mod and it’s easy to convince yourself you feel the powa!

But not gears, you absolutely can tell the difference in gears and it has real effects. Faster acceleration, higher rpm at cruise, maybe decreased fuel economy. It is a tradeoff.

Neither 392 or 392XR will outrun a T-REX*. Perceived or otherwise!

*T-REX's are extinct. So a TRX may be substituted.

Back to jeep mods. As you were.

Disagree a 100%, gears is the one thing that is a very noticeable change. If you can’t tell the difference between 3.73 and 4.56 I’m not sure what to tell you. It’s a pronounced difference.

Probably not much difference because of the tire size 33s to 35s.

It’s really not. I just went from 3.73 to 4.88.

Maybe my butt dyno isn’t as finely tuned as yours.

I’m not saying there’s not a difference, but it’s def not “pronounced” imo. I def look forward to towing my camper w/ it to see how it performs.

What size tires are you running?

I ran a full spectrum proportionality profile analysis on the illustration and have concluded that it is NOT a 392, but in fact a base rubicon (3.6 prob.).

Sorry Ted392 you almost had us.

Hahaha, happy to rerun analysis but would need further specs (i.e. tire size, re-gear etc.) to also calculate performance/survivability numbers.
When you're being chased by T-rex you can't afford to "feel" like you're out running him/her, ya need to know.

for the sake of argument it only takes a 1992 YJ Sahara to outrun a Trex, it has to be true because I have seen it on TV. 😁

as long as Ian Malcom is blocking the shifter.
