Can you explain why this thump happens in detail? I don't have mine yet but would be good to know.

It's noticeable when it goes in and out of the 4 cyl mode. To me, it sounds kinda like when someone with one of those stereo systems that has a lot of bass is nearby. It's like a huuuummmmmmm. I thought that's what it was the first few times I heard it until I realized there was nobody else on the freeway.

And yes, I'd agree that when it's in 4 cyl for just a few seconds at a time, it probably has no benefit.

When you pick yours up, you'll figure out the menu and it can display when it goes into that. I hope that helps!

It won’t let you go in reverse with door open. I have it bypassed on the Tazer but you have to activate the live function menu every time you start up, it doesn’t remember the setting. Lucky you Tree, they must have forgotten to program that in yours. Maybe they forgot the MDS also, that would be a score!

When you shift into reverse with door open, it will “blink”… shift into Neutral then back to reverse and your good to go. Same with Drive.
You don’t need a taser mini… unless you just want one.

That can be debated for decades. I think there are very few cases of manufacturers voiding warranties over a tune but many many people are concerned with it.

Yeah so when it goes back to full 8cyl there's a thump sound and exhaust sound change. If it weren't for that, I'd say it's perfect. I hate the transitioning in and out of 4cyl because that thump sound in the exhaust. Maybe I'm the only one that's noticed or even has that sound. I haven't heard anyone else mention it. I'm going to address it at my first oil change when it comes.

I haven't noticed that sound on mine. I've even driven it with the exhaust and radio off.

Same for me. Usually I only know it's in 4 cyl mode looking at the screen. I will check it out again and pay more attention to the sound.

I don't get it when the exhaust is off. Only when it's on and switching from 4 to 8. Definitely a thump sound on mine.

@Hydro Blue 392 I get the same exhaust reverb on mine when shifting going into 4cyl mode. It sounds like reverb from a subwoofer and I too thought that was the cause when I first heard it. It seems to be happening less often as I put miles on the Jeep but maybe I am just getting used to it. I don't have a tazer, yet, so I "have to" drive pedal to the metal so it doesn't happen.

Yeah that's another good way to describe it, subwoofer reverb. I have 5000 miles on mine now. I'm not expecting it to go away. But I'd like to find out what's making it happen. Yeah it's only when kicking back to 8cyl after coasting or driving a short distance with no load on the engine at 4cyl then at the slightest acceleration adding enough load to kick to 8cyl, there's the thump in exhaust sound.

I upgraded from the JLU sport Altitude to 393 way better ride! I don't plan to do any modifications, just wish I had 35"s instead of 33's. When I ordered my Jeep the recon package wasn't available at the time of order. Happy jeeper 392 that is

I put AEV wheels with 37 MT2's on mine right away. Love it as is, no hates.

I love my 392 and its the 4th JL/JT I have owned and it handles and steers better than any I've had before.

For me its the MPG that I dislike the most. I expected it to be bad...just not quite as bad as it really is! I can live with it though...Smiles per gallon

The motor is the same as my GC, but just seems a little less. Less snappy, less responsive, less torque. tiresm drive train, etc., all contribite.
I also had some mods on my GC, pushing about 570 hp.
maybe I look into some mods for this one as well?

I'm with you. The interior of the factory hard top should be a dark color (like black) and not white. I have considered painting mine.

I'm with you. The interior of the factory hard top should be a dark color (like black) and not white. I have considered painting mine.

I painted the inside of my LJ hard top black. Turned out very nice. I've considered painting this one also but its a different deal when its brand new.

I have Hot headliners which gives it a different look, plus I have the black 2 piece spiderwebshade that stays on with hard top on, can’t really see the top at all now
