🛠️ What did you do to your Jeep 392 today?

Third time I've touched this winch, installed and removed from the 4xe and installd here. I modified the wincheroo plate supports and installed the Oracle lighting skid plate but sands 2 pods on either end to fit. That's OK with me cause I have 2 spares now for when I bust one...

My lights are mounted right where your bull mounts.

Installed the MOPAR 68322798AA extended control arms for a touch bit more caster over the weekend. All I can say is WOW, they made about as much difference in steering feel as adding the falcon steering stabilizer did. There's still a deadspot in the very center of the wheel, but the 392 feels much more stable at freeway speeds and has lost most of the wander resulting in much less required steering input while cruising.

If any of you were on the fence about the effectiveness of adding a bit of caster, I'd highly recommend it!

Also... I put in an order for a 2024 Shelter Green Raptor 37 (Not an R, not willing to pay ADM). I don't expect it to be built until late summer, but looks like I'll be going to the darkside...

Yup, those are the ones. I couldn't believe it either, but for the price I figured it was worth a shot and it paid off!

Honestly I didn’t feel that much of a difference. The caster angle did increase. Tracks a bit better but maybe I’m not sensitive to the steering feel. Worth doing it anyway.

Just got back Saturday from my maiden voyage road trip in the new 392 for Thanksgiving in Colorado from TX. I will say the Jeep performed flawlessly, just a lot of stops at the gas stations! Jeep averaged 14.2 on the trip. At one point when driving through a snow storm in N. Colorado I was averaging 50 MPH and got 21.2MPG. Not bad but the trip would have taken days driving that slow LOL and I didn’t buy this for MPG’s.

Wife wasn’t happy driving in the Jeep, she has an Escalade we normally drive and obviously that road trips very well and gets 19.5mpg‘s loaded. Surprisingly she commented on the way home she was impressed how well it did on the hwy at speed.

A few observations I made:
1. The windshield wipers are horrible in the snow! I know this from previous Jeeps i have owned but still disappointed a Jeep this expensive cant have a better solution, especially considering this is a safety issue.
2. The Jeep handles surprisingly well loaded. I had three adults and two large golden retrievers and a weeks worth of luggage. We Used a Thule rack to hold extra luggage.
3. I am shocked how many times when stopped people ask “does that really have a 392 V8 in it” I guess non car guys just don‘t know what is being built these days.?.
4. I see this Jeep being in my fleet for a long time. I truly love it. I plan several trips this next summer to Colorado and W TX for off-roading.
5. I have two hunting trips to W TX for crane hunts in Dec so will put about another 1500 miles in the next 30 days. I only wish there was a better solution for shotgun storage in The back. If anyone has suggestions I would love to hear them.?.

That is great to hear. We drove from Fort Worth to Odessa for Thanksgiving and home a few days later and it rained all the way home. I was overall impressed with the Jeep.

I added a Steersmarts track bar reinforcment sector shaft bracket that made all the difference in steering. Much less driver input . Very happy

I installed the Redline hood struts on our Rubicon X and the 392. They are a huge improvement over the rod.

Swapped out the original dash panels with the stitched panels that match the interior and also added a driver seat neck / shoulder pillow. More comfortable now when driving.

That said I was originally going to purchase from one of the Moparparts.com sites. The link included was the one I was going to use until I found the parts on eBay. Saved a little $. Still this is the least expensive price as a package I have found.
