🛠️ What did you do to your Jeep 392 today?

We bought the hinges already done from Hooke Road - I think he got the ‘door hinge kit’, and then we did black oxide on the bolts themselves.

Took Zeus and headed to the Ouray/Telluride area. The trails are still mostly closed for the season, but we found places to go, and there are always some amazing views to be had.

I changed the color of my 392. Well, I actually changed the whole Jeep. When I bought my 392, black was only color I could find. It had a red interior and the one touch roof, not a fan of either. I just traded for a 2025 in the new '41 color. The interior is black and has my preferred hard top. The new rock rails (Mopar calls them HD Rock Sliders with Step Assist) are a nice touch. They certainly made the wife happy. Can't wait for the weekend.

41 is either the best color I have ever seen or it looks like baby poop. I am torn between my 2 thoughts.

I got a call yesterday afternoon from the local Tek Shine auto detailer asking me if I could put my Jeep in a car show they are having tomorrow. They have done a total body PPF for me on this vehicle, and others. I said it would be great; except I had just got back from a week in Moab and my Jeep had red dirt and dust everywhere. It was filthy. They said, no problem, drop it off tonight (Thursday) whenever you can and we'll get it cleaned up for the show. You can just leave it here and pick it up when the show is over. I had to stop by today to get the VIN number so I could order an air filter from the local dealership and took these pictures. I think it cleaned up rather well.

Gotta love these 392s. A week in Moab, finishing up with Cliffhanger trail last week. And a car show this week, with nothing but a complementary detail job in between.

Yesterday was our 25th anniversary. We took Zeus and ran The Bank. Not a difficult trail, but wonderful scenery.

My tub rails were pretty scratched up from taking the top on and off so I bought the AFE Rail covers which were pretty nice but started to bow pretty bad when in the sun. So I decided to try something different, I had my PPF/ceramic shop apply some satin black vinyl. We will see how it holds up. I think it looks pretty good.

My favorite color!

Many recent posts but went out to Sand hollow today on a mix of trails. Didn't capture much except this, having too much fun out there.

Only a few seconds of fun captured on video.

Installed the Rugged Ridge hood locks. Tip for those that have or plan to do this, make sure that the hood connection is adjusted so that there’s full contact with the latch. I noticed my first installment, I could latch the hood, put weight on the hood by pushing it down and you could unlatch without unlocking. So I adjusted the hood bracket and tightened it at its highest point.

I like this idea, very much.

Added some Hardrock 4x4 rock rails. I am very pleased with the look and quality of them. I put these on Friday after work, easy enough to do by yourself. I did have to fix my RokBlokz mud flaps, which have cutout holes for the Rubicon rails. I saved the piece you take out and used my heat gun with some black zip ties and melted it all back together. I think that was harder than actually installing the new rock rails...Ha!

EASTER EGG BONUS! 😲
Under my Jeep Friday night installing the new rock rails and first time I have noticed the Grill icon on the driveshaft. Both ends, I might add. I was pleasantly surprised. Seems right on for Jeep and all their Easter Eggs. Cheers!!

Today had it re-geared to 4.88s and since they had it also installed the Steer Smarts Yeti XD SS brace. I didn’t know it’d come with new diff covers as well and didn’t notice until I got home. Nice surprise.
