🛠️ What did you do to your Jeep 392 today?

I had the IGLA immobilizer installed on the rig today. Unless the thieves are skulking about in a tow truck (!), this thing is on lock down. I can't tell you the peace of mind I had driving home.

Done. Day 1 - Happy with it. Lots of information here on the forums but easy to press in the code to start the Jeep each time. I am also using the iPhone app as well but was sternly warned against using the key fobs - so for now they sit at home with no batteries.

Nice, good to hear. As for your fobs, if you didn't want to have to remove the batteries you could keep them in faraday pouches instead. My spare is always in a faraday pouch and when I get home I put my primary in it's pouch. So no key fob signal can be found.

Jeephouse sells these cheap plastic door inserts. I was skeptical about them when ordering but I love the rear inserts. Fronts are just ok. Good thing about the rears are that I keep the factory net and the inserts snap right in. Fronts are less secure and need to have a hole drilled.

I am going to have to do something about those nets I often snag my boot eyelets on the net while exiting the Jeep . When I do the nets will have to go

Maybe, maybe not. I put a set of these

The nets are barely visible with them in place.
If you do decide to remove them, I'm guessing 10 seconds with a box cutter will suffice. That's what I did when I replaced the saggy nets in the JKURs.

An update. I unboxed the rear door panels. They're not as deep, front to back, and you will really want to remove the stock net. It's pretty simple. Grab the top elastic band with a pair of pliers and pull. You'll see a thin metal wire grab it and pull it out all the way around.

That is something that has yet to happen to me, but now that it's in the universe I'm sure it'll happen tomorrow when I'm in and out clearing a local road of trees!

Hey Dirty, I'm still looking at solutions to the nets...Thanks for the links. Are you experiencing any of the hitting the left leg while driving that the reviews mention on the front set?

I am not. There are a ton of options, and the front to back depth varies wildly, so I can see it happening for some. How you're built and how you sit will also be a factor. For reference, I'm 6'1" and 210lbs. If I let my left leg totally flop to the side, it touches, but it's on the flat part, where the flag is printed and it's not the least uncomfortable. And I don't generally flop around when I'm driving.

Appreciate the reply. I am 6' 1" and 215 lbs. Doesn't get much closer than that. I focus and keep my body under control when driving also....no floppy body parts here. Will get them and I'm sure they'll work. Thanks!

Christmas is coming, as you all probably now. And some of the grandkids are old enough for knives. We're an outdoorsy bunch, and a knife is a handy tool. So with the permission of their parents, I'm making folders for four of them this year. Finished one for my granddaughter today. The blade is 440 stainless. Not my favorite blade steel, but they're kids, and it's low maintenance. Rockwell is about 60. Scales are abalone. Simple liner lock.

Thanks. We do a lot of diving, and my wedding ring is abalone and tungsten. For as pretty as it is, abalone is incredibly cheap.
