Friend of mine in high school, 1981 (lol), had a Jeep CJ-5 Golden Eagle addition. As a 16 year old, I loved that Jeep.
He had an accident one night on a wet road, rolled it. Luckily no one was hurt. But insurance paid to have it repaired. What he did was replace stock 6-cyl with AMC 360 engine, 38" tires (which were huge at the time) and high back tan seats to match the gold color exterior.. Engine had a larger Holley 4-barrel carburetor with a performance cam shaft installed, and headers with glass packs. Man did that Jeep sound great idling. That was back in the time where living in small rural towns meant cruising the parking lots was the cool thing to do.
As he would drive through the parking lot idling, the Jeep would lope like a race car...just awesome.

Funny that story reminded me of why I wanted my 392 as well. Back in my early 20’s in the late 90’s one of my best friends inherited a lot of cash (7 figures) and proceeded to blow it like a 21 year old would lol. I had a 1995 green Rio Grande and he bought a dark brown with yellow and orange stripes 1986 CJ7 and had a shop swap in a LT1 crate engine and put some Alcoas on it with 35’s. Other than that and a mild lift it was bone stock. That thing was so much fun and sounded awesome but we couldn’t keep drive shafts in it. I don’t know how many custom drive shafts he went through. Hit second and bam drive shaft flying on the road. One of the most fun vehicles I’ve ever driven.

My wife has a rule. I can't purchase a new vehicle without discussing it with her first. So far, she has come home to 6 new vehicles, in the garage, without any discussion.

The one that I figured she would flip-out on is when I traded my AMG for a TRX. When she arrived home, she said "is that a TRX, I really like it".

A year later she did flip out when she got home and the TRX was gone and the 392 was in its place.

Seems that most people who have a TRX here just buy the 392 to go with it.

yup.... my wife said the morning cold starts in the TRX....is like a wake-up call not just for us, but everyone in the area...I think the sound is magnified since we have a porte cochere that acts like a sound booster. ..

I told her the 392 is louder... It was an easy sell. I am still thinking in 6 months, she will go back to her "normal" 3 Row SUV...

I used to always have a truck, a sports car and a race car at the same time, plus whatever my wife has at the time. Now I just keep 1 vehicle at a time plus my wife's. We are in our small retirement home now with just 2 car garage so the 2 Jeeps are all that fit.

Yup I got them when they were 4300, not that it’s much better but I intend to keep this one forever so I did the half doors with it. Anvil is such a great color too, I bet it would have looked sick, sad they weren’t offered.

Get her a Durango SRT or Hellcat.
It is NOT sexy on the outside but you'd be really surprised how much fun it is to drive. And NO ONE, I mean no one- expects it to haul ass. It does not feel like a big SUV one bit. I had an RT and traded it for an SRT. Mine had some paint/panel issues that the dealer said they'd fix when I bought it. The deal was that if they had to re-paint anything I had the option to return it- and in the end I did. It was a year-end tax purchase for my company and I couldn't find another Durango so I would up the the 392. Like the 392 they keep saying its the end of the V8 but if they keep it I'll get another Durango eventually. It is a "small" 3 row but for me it was fine.
 
I installed the Form Lighting side marker lights and really like them. I was wavering back and forth between the Diode Dynamics and these. I like the 3 rows of LEDs on these. After posting on the JL forum to hear what folks think about both It turns out Diode Dynamics owns Form Lighting.
