🛠️ What did you do to your Jeep 392 today?

I’ve read numerous 392 owners wondering why there is no passenger side rear tow hook. Today I almost finished a passenger side tow hook. I took a factory left side and cut the welds, used the pieces to create a right side. Once I finalize it, I’ll post some pics. It will look OEM.

I finished stage 1 of 3 of the right side rear tow hook project.. Attached are the pics. Stage 2 will be the 2 bolts/nuts needed for the inside frame attachments. The other 2 bolts used are preexisting, used to secure the bumper. Stage 3 are pics of the hook on the jeep. More to come.

Got around to installing my Oracle rear bumper lights. Put a light smoke tint on them to blend in with the bumper more.

Passenger side went in great. Driver side wouldn’t fit, so I had to grind down some key places in the opening, then paint. Took 3X the time it should have, but came out clean.

No, I used metallic champagne bronze. As it turns out, I didn't see any metallic in the original color. I read, either on this forum or FB, I can't remember. Someone apparently talked to the company that painted the actual color, and they said it was Avery Gold powder coat. I couldn't find spray paint or powder coat in that color.

Are those bolts painted or just gold zinc? The gold zinc does fade in the sun.

Gold zinc. Fade is better than the rusted socket heads….imo.

I usually close the windows and top before I hit muddy spots but I guess I forgot. I didn't even realize it until I got home and looked at the pictures.

I guess not noticing until you get home is better than noticing when a couple hundred pounds of stinking mud lands on you.... thanks for sharing.

Used it as an anchor behind my other Jeep when pulling bushes out. The LJ was rolling when pulling the bush even with 4 chocks and me holding the brake.

Glad I'm not the only one. After 30 years of only using my winches to pull bushes and stumps, I finally had to use it on the trail a couple months ago of the very sloppy and flooded Kentucky Adventure Trail.

They good news is that it was so dusty the mud that got inside didn't stick. That part is normal around here.

I've used it a few times off road. Nice tool to have.
