The Off Road/Trail Pics & Video Thread

That’s not Colorado snow because: (1) everything stops when you get up to your frame and (2) AAA won’t come get you and (3) you may not live if you go off the side of the road

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not the safety police and it is a lot of fun… but it is extremely common for us to end up recovering a group or two that are stuck and completely unprepared…

but they’re mostly Tacos, Broncos, and Subarus… and we go on Sunday… so I guess we’re really doing the Lord’s work and snow-wheeling is our opportunity give back to those who are less fortunate!

Not sure if you’re talking about me, but I think I’m good on the safety side of things. This photo was actually taken on a Search and Rescue mission I was on with our County Sherriff. I was breaking trail up to the lookout tower that a mom and son were trapped in after getting in over their heads snow-shoeing. I volunteer with the Special Vehicles Group for missions just like this. We also always go in pairs, my buddy was right behind me.

I’m assuming you misread or misinterpreted my tone and/or my sarcasm because no offense was intended . I was only commenting on the characteristics of our snow and how I would probably slide off the side of a mountain and die. My apologies to you

Oh, and apologies to Taco, Bronco, and Subaru owners… and possibly the Lord. All the vehicles mentioned are all very comfortable and historically much more reliable than Jeeps.

I also feel the need to send out a general apology to Bud lite drinkers, on this forum, for anything I may have said or implied under the ‘Zipper Lube’ thread.

No apologies! You intended no harm. It was my misunderstanding. Except, don’t apologize to bud light drinkers. They don’t matter.

My regrets for being snarky. No excuse, but I’ve been in terrible pain due to a long standing back issue. Might need surgery. Just been irritable. And no, midol won’t fix this.

Kind of the opposite...we need snow, but are being denied. This is on the way down from Big Bear to Pioneertown, CA this past weekend.

We live near Hidden Falls Adventure Park in Texas so we go out there from time to time to practice. Yesterday morning we decided to go run North Pole- a fairly easy trail without too much technical stuff. I know I’m going pretty slow but I’m new to wheeling so I’m still trying to learn my rig and what it does.

What is this newbie run situation? We are local and would love to find groups like this to run with, and we were actually there airing down while ya’lls group was meeting in the parking lot area and taking off ya’lls doors and stuff. We started on the trail before you guys all got going so I never ran into anyone on the trail itself. How often does this group meet up for runs?

Yeah I thought I saw your jeep when I was there that morning. Baldy’s jeep shop in cedar park often hosts newbie runs at HF, so follow their FB page for their next events. Also search austinjeeppeople (ajp) on FB and you will find someone wanting to meet up at HF on weekends.

LOL. I'm also on the Gladiator forum. We have a JT Mojave as well.

First day back on the trail after my injury. My goal was to get back out within 6 months and I made it out at 4 months.

Thanks to my wonderful wife for nursing back to health when I couldn't even perform daily activities.

Thanks to my guys, all picked because I knew that I would be in the safest hands and they could get me off the trail, back home and tucked in bed, if needed.

I don't think they understand what "easy beginner trails " are though...lol...
