This was a few weekends ago. We had just finished Red Cone pass and this is the first obstacle as you head up Radical Hill.

The view from the top is worth the trip

Took the 392 out to Rausch Creek today for some proper off-roading. All I can say is wow. The endless torque and power is a whole new experience offroad, at least for me coming from a 2.0T sport. It almost felt like I was cheating. Stuck to green trails, but the thing dominated and stock XR, as mine is, I think could easily handle the blue and potentially even some of black trails there. I will say it took some time to get used to all of the power. It has so much torque it just wants to get up and go when crawling, I really had to be easy in the gas or it would just jump forward up a rock instead of crawling. 4Lo was almost useless. I was in 4Hi basically the entire time.

Big shout out to off-road consulting for giving a great 101 class. While I’m not brand new to off-roading, it was definitely a nice refresher of some of the basics and was nice to have someone experienced there giving pointers along the way as I explored the amazing features of this beast. I was a little disappointed we didn’t visit at least Trail 11 which is one of the 3 Jeep badge of honor trails there, however I’ll be back in a month for an event so will do Trail 11 and Crawler Ridge and get my badges then (not ready for the black trails yet so Crawl Daddy will have to wait). Despite that I had a great time and learned a ton about my 392, including how to use the hill descent feature. I’d highly recommend to anyone relatively new to off-roading who lives in eastern PA to take the course. They give classes and guided tours at both Rausch Creek and AOAA. If nothing else a great way to meet fellow Jeepers.

Fantastic! Looks like a tough warrior! I’m in PA but 4 hours drive to Rausch Creek. I have 0 off-roading experience but look forward to it one day. It’s on my list.

it’s not easy finding a trail that gets you above tree line in Maine but this one is on the boarder looking into Canada.

Did some exploring of the ORV trails of Wharton State Forest in NJ with my daughter today. Trails were tight, giving the 392 a wash tomorrow I’m sure I’m going to have pinstripe scratches from the trees. Not as exciting as the rocky trails in PA I’m used to but still had a great time. Lots of open fire roads to test the power of that V8 on.

Congratulations, you beat me! One year ago I topped out on Engineer's pass at 12,800 feet at exactly 1,500 miles. Great pictures!

Any other eastern PA area 392s going to the Krawling for K9s event at Rausch Creek this weekend? I was at a big event at AOAA right near by a few weeks ago and there were a number of other 392s there, one in my trail group (pic below). Curious if anyone on here will be coming this weekend as this event is even bigger.
