Tail gate inner 392 plate

OK, I think I have the answer to my own questions. My “AA” plate shows *35” TIRE and then shows 2 values each for Overall Length (OL), Water Fording, and Widths (TR & OW). So, the first value is for a standard 392 with 33” tires and the second value (with an *) is for a 392 with 35” tires. I believe I have the correct plate now...and if I mount 35” tires, I will still have the correct plate.
That's even better. The one I have is for the original 33", so if I go to 35" tires, all those values won't apply.

Interesting to see the 392 XR will be 4.3" longer and 5.4" wider than the original 392.

Noted. I expected the width difference (4.3”) to be exactly double the length difference (5.4”), if tire size is the only change between the standard 392 and the XR. I haven’t seen an XR so I don’t know if the front bumper extends farther out front and/or the tire mount pushes the the spare tire farther back...or the numbers are not accurate.

Likely the tire mount is 1.6" out more, so that 1.6" plus the 2.7" extra tire width will add 5.4" to the overall length of the 392 XR. Can't wait for the XR to be released and read/watch the reviews.

I have the silver JL badge still on... customer care sent me the 392 Recon AB badge... which I don't need.. but finally got the right 392 AA badge today! Now to install.... somewhere....

Perfect timing. Just returned from my dealer. They installed under warranty.

Great to know. TY BUT… I’m wondering… better to just put it in the glove box as “errors” are worth a lot of money in some cases??

Don’t know about possible future value. Just want mine the way it should have been built at factory.
Good luck whatever you decide to do.

I'm going to say it's a hard no on the "future" value. It's not a misprinted badge. Jeep stated it was the default badge (aka the very SAME badge that are pretty much in the countless Jeeps produced since the introduction of the JL) used on initial runs (knowingly) until the bronze badge hit production later...

The reality is that they are a dime a dozen, can be riveted to ANY jeep, and won't have any value later on.
The ones that will have value of a few pennies more? The bronze badges as pseudo Jeepers slap them on Sports and try to impress the unknowing at the next cars and coffee. They'll gladly pay 20 buck for the $15 plate along with Gladiator Mojave hoods, and fake 392 badges.

Sorry to be the one bursting everyone's bubble, but it's not like a misprinted penny from the US mint that only exists in miniscule quantities...

A lil birdie told me if you install a tailgate table, you'll have room for it on the tailgate. I have no proof of this. But i still need a spot to install it.
Any ideas floating around?

That would look great on an Outback tail gate table!!!

Here’s mine, production was late June. Anyone with an update on how many were produced for 2021? Dealer allocations were shut down for July.
I did not notice the black rivets that came with your Bronze Plate until I received the 1st of 4 rivets I ordered through my dealer. It took 6 weeks to get the plate; I’ve been waiting more than a month for the rivets. Fortunately black rivets are not uncommon. I measure 2” in length, 1/8” in diameter.

I love the bronze so much i ordered new wheels (with at3 35s) to really play up the bronze theme. Putting them on today with black lugs. ((My hun was scared to hurt my wheels.... notice the black gloves! I had to laugh. ))
I love the bronze too. I've got a black 392 and the color combination reminds me of the '78 Bandit Trans Am. Wanted one soooo bad in high school, but dad said "That's too much engine for you!"

If he could only see me now.

I think it's a very nice touch! However, should someone back out of completing the purchase of the vehicle that they ordered then the person eventually buying that vehicle has someone else's name on the window sticker:(.
That's exactly what happened to me. Oh well. Now it's mine and the correct name is on the title.

I’ve noticed in several videos on the 392 the info plate on the vehicles being reviewed is just the standard white JL plate. But mine is the gold color and 392 specific. Curious how many of you have your 392 and what plate is on the inside of the gate.
Same

Although I stated black rivets are “not uncommon” it appears this size (1/8” x 3/4”) is “not that common”. After an online search by size failed, I searched by MOPAR Part Number and found a Jeep dealer that sells these rivets for 33 cents each; even though my local Jeep dealer charges $1.25 each. Their website is: https://www.factorychryslerparts.com. Be advised they charge about $10 for shipping.
