Switching my 2022 392 to a 2023 392…

Hi..
New to this forum but have been a loyal Jeep owner since 1989..

I received a call from Jeep Cares last week regarding my 2022 392 order that I placed in January.. The representative said that she needed to speak with me regarding my 392 build I placed 4 months ago. After hearing all the news about the cancellation of the 392, I got a sick feeling in my stomach. I finally got a hold of the person who left the message and was offered an interesting offer. As mentioned in other posts the XR package is no longer available. I was given option of deleting the XR package and receiving the Jeep as a 2022, or keeping the XR package and accepting an additional 2 month wait for a 2023. When asked if I could upgrade to the 20th anniversary model I was told the only option was to keep the XR package and no other options could change. I obviously chose to wait for the 2023. They would not confirm what else might change with the 2023 392 but they did confirm that all new orders are closed for the model year. You heard that right, you officially cannot order a 2023 unless you are already waiting for a 2022. I also requested a email from Jeep stating that the dealer must accept my original MSRP from my 2022 order. This site has been very helpful and I just wanted to pass along the most current information that I have received. Thanks for reading this post.

Super curious how this is going to play out - I got an email from the dealer yesterday that my Jan 21 392 XR order was now in D1 status and scheduled to be built and shipped by 5/17.

However, I don't see my build sheet on cryptostickers.net - now I'm wondering if I need to be concerned about a possible 23MY conversion...

I'll operate on the assumption that the dealer has some information that cryptostickers does not, and that I'll get a 22MY XR unless I hear different!

Build sheets only post once per day and only after the vehicle has gone down the main assembly line. This doesn’t include things that require multiple days, like going over to Mopar (body vendor) for the add-in’s like rock rails, etc. ESD (Estimated Ship Date) is a poorly selected phrase by Stellantis as it’s really the “estimated” day your vehicle will start main assembly not the date it is actually expected to be fully released to transport/shipping. So, if you have an ESD of 5/17 and it actually starts down the line that day, it is likely 5/18 is the first day you might see a build sheet.

My order was built at regular speed. Delivery I'm hoping will be in the 8-12 week range. You could buy the plastic extensions from mopar for I think like $20 each and get the xr package built by the dealer.

This is great info, I really appreciate it!

Despite how I felt when I first ordered it, I'm actually pretty relaxed about when it gets delivered (within reason of course). Any delivery during summer months would make me super happy!

You can also pull your Build Sheet and Window Sticker directly after they post and don't need to rely on Crypto. Build sheets post once a day in the morning, windows stickers once a day late night. It's not unusual for the servers to have issues or for them to fail to post for a few days, but the standard is once per day. Build Sheets post after the vehicle starts down the main assembly line. Window stickers post after the vehicle is fully released to transport/shipping and the dealer is officially invoiced. Use the links below, just copy in your full VIN at the end after the equal (=) sign. Sometimes you have to clear your browser cache to get the posted BS or WS to show up if you had been checking before they posted and have cached pages saying Build Sheet or Window Sticker not found.

Excellent insight, and thanks a ton for the info - I'll give it a shot next week (showing not found at the moment, no surprise). I'll also take into consideration browser cache if I start to get antsy!

I'm impressed by your breadth of knowledge on this subject - especially update times for build/sticker, super curious how you learned about this! Thanks all the same, and cheers!

I can't take the credit for it. I've also ordered a couple Ram 1500 trucks, including one I just took delivery on a couple weeks ago. I belong to a Ram forum and there are two guys there that have the Stellantis system down. They have a whole system for tracking all this including a bunch of analytical charts they maintain and update daily for forum members who have orders. It's pretty cool and all this proven-to-be-true wisdom came from them.

I moved to D1 status this week. I did a short little celebration and then came back down to earth.

Just got an update from my dealer rep and it looks like the feedback the Jeep rep gave me previously about it still being possible my XR might be built as a 22MY could be true. Status updated and mine is now in production on main assembly and build sheet still shows everything as originally configured including the XR package. Will update further as it moves through the various stages.

Looks like my 392 did go completely down the main assembly line this weekend. The full build sheet posted publicly this morning. It now shows that it's over with the Body Vendor (Mopar) for the factory "aftermarket" add-ons. Build sheet shows everything exactly as originally ordered including XR. Will be interesting to see how long it takes to get to full completion, window sticker publishing, and release to shipping vendors from this point.

How do you track this?

How do you track this?

Combination of updates from dealer of current status codes for the build in their Dealer Connect system (see this post for codes listing), plus the other publicly avail info detailed previously above in this thread.

Just got notified by Crypto Stickers that my build sheet has posted. I guess I am making progress. :)

Thank you so much for holding. I am showing that your vehicle has been built and is pending installation of additional equipment. This is a necessary step when additional features or optional equipment packages are added to the vehicle. Currently no Dealer ETA has been provided.

Bummer about no ETA but not a big surprise considering how things have been I suppose. Good news nonetheless!

if you want a 392 I suggest you get one NOW, or you are going to be buying a used one :)

trust me

unless you are an absolute speed freak hp junkie like myself you will be plenty happy with the 392, if you bitch about gas prices dont buy a recon

Do you have some insider info? I think we were under the assumption there would be a 2023 model.

Anyway, interesting what you say about recon. I didn’t get XR and don’t plan to wheel it (for now). In fact it would see some highway time. I know we do not buy these for epa, but every bit of gas mileage is good for me.

I too would like to know this!
I wish there wasn't going to be a 23 392. That way I could just love mine and not wait.

By the way, mine is finally in shipping, but I still don't have it. I ordered 10/09!
I hope those of you move faster than I did in JB (Body Vendor). I was there 7 weeks

2023 is now available. I cancelled my 2022 392XR and switch to 2023. This time I went all out and got every possible options.
