Rubicon 20th Anniversary Edition Discussion

Post up some pics.
I will, later today, hopefully.... got to get all of the paperwork out of the way while pretending to work. Dealer called and said the post delivery inspection was perfect. they are washing it while I'm waiting on the bank to transfer funds...

Out with the old and in with the new....

Looks good!

Did you put the 20 miles on it or were they on there at the time of delivery?

Any visible suspension differences?
They put 14 on at the factory/loading. The dealer put another 6 on during the post delivery inspection.

I haven't gotten to inspecting the suspension yet... stupid work thinks I have to do stuff before they pay me.

I never had an XR to compare it to but it's tall... way taller than my non XR Plus some bonus pics of the steps, which I really did not know what to expect with those.

Looks as if the shocks are the same as on the XR. No evidence of a Fox logo I’m guessing?

When you get time, send some pics of the dash and front seats looking in from outside the Jeep with both front doors open if you don’t mind.

Thanks!

Congrats on the new ride! My 22 XR with 30 psi, measured 41” floor to rear fender flare via center wheel cap, and 40.5” front. I’d curious what’s your measure on the 20 A. Heard it’s 1/2” taller than the XR, maybe higher spring rate?

Congrats! Mine is black too. My ETA was yesterday, but my tracker now says "TBD".

Question for you all who have or will be financing...what kind of interest rates are you finding? The best I found locally so far is 5.99% for 60-mo or 6.24% for 72-mo. Dealer thinks they can beat that with another local credit union...

rear 42.... front 41.5

I expect it'll settle a bit once the springs see some age.

The wife and I put a few miles on it last evening. First impressions are that it sounds different than my 21... maybe it's just that the engine is not broken in... I did notice that the revs drop much faster.

Suspension is tighter/firmer... noticeably so. It's a lot less soft and squishy. This was especially noticeable for potholes and railroad crossings. Not sure if this is firmer spring rates or just "new".

New car smell is fantastic... probably not healthy, but nice.

The steering wheel has a polished ring where the back of the wheel meets the column (as well as polished bits of trim). The glint of those polished bits is readily visible right in my line of sight as it reflects off the windshield... kind of annoying. I might have to hit it with a bit of chrome-be-gone.

No adjustable cargo tie down rails. I don't care a bit, but it seems odd that they would leave that out after including every other premium option.

Thanks for the pics.

Any other subtle differences between the 20A and your ’21 (other than the big things like the grill, the wheels, and the decals) that you have noticed?

The steering wheel cross section is different.... more oval than round.

It does seem quieter at speed. Even though my 21 had the hotheads panels and the new one does not.

The exhaust sounds "different" especially when engine braking. I'm not sure how to quantify it.

Wow, that looks great! The red and black interior really works well the black exterior. It's interesting to hear your comparisons to your 2021 as well.

For that tool kit, do you know if there is a part number for it? I know I could probably put something together own my own for less, but that looks like a nice set. I'm curious on pricing and availability for it...

The instructions sheet has "Model JP0006" in the corner. Maybe that. Plus a phone number.
