Rear View mirror options ???

I 3D printed a rear mount and used some 2 sided gorilla tape - works and looks better than the one that was included in the kit. I can send the .stl file of you have access to a 3D printer.

I ordered this OEM style mount for the mirror itself - perfect fit and finish. I'll takes some additional pics this afternoon and post them here.

That looks great! I like the separate front camera and how the mirror itself attaches to the factory mount. I went with the Wolfbox last time but I may try the Auto-Vox this time.

Did you have to buy a different mount for it or did it come with everything you need? Because our windshields lay down I know they don't hook to the windshield.

Different mount for the mirror (link above in this thread) and a 3D printed mount for the rear camera - front camera sticks to the windshield with the included 2 sided tape.

Wow, I don't know how I missed the link. Thanks! For my Wolfbox I 3D printed a "dog house" looking thing that mounted on top of the third brake light. This seemed to work pretty good. I have the top off so often I wanted an external mount.

Nice!

for the rear camera mount - .stl isn't a supported file type to send in a message - I uploaded to printables, let me know if you have any issues.

Awesome thanks for sharing that, do you have the factory mopar camera in the grill? Any issues with the camera on the windshield and it when both are turned on?

I do have the factory camera - no issues, factory cam is viewed on the factory screen, dash cam is viewed on the mirror.

Got that part printed (thanks!)and the AutoVox showed up yesterday, did you end up tapping into the fuse box under the hood for power/ground? Appreciate the tip on the wolfbox mount, you have take some of it apart, I have an SOT getting to one of the 3 bolts that hold the factory mirror was a bitch but all installed now and looks good just need to power it up!

I used the AUX Switch Ignition/Direct to Battery wires under the passenger foot well/glove box

Thats what I was thinking just for ease of access but you have to turn the switch on to use the mirror so was thinking about running wire through the firewall to the battery.

I don't know for sure. I was going up a steep road and it overheated instantly. Straight from normal to over in less than a second. I got out and was letting it cool down when a radiator hose blew. I was thinking about how I was going to deal with that when I saw flames coming up from under the hood with the steam. My guess is it overheated so bad it warped something and some fluid like oil or gas hit the hot turbo but it was burned up so bad there wasn't really anything left to analyse. Here's a pic:

Did your insurance cover this?

Yes, they covered it but only gave me $23,000 when I had dumped that much into it in the past year. So it wasn't enough to buy a new Jeep as I hoped.

Thanks - something I always wondered about.

I purchased the Wolfbox but ended up returning it since the ACC interfered with the front facing camera. I went with the AUTO-VOX T9PRO since the front camera can be mounted on the windshield away from any obstructions. Absolutely love the camera and the expanded view out the back.

Here's a couple of pics - tried to capture a view with both the side mirror and back-up camera.

Does the T9 have something built into it so it does not kill the battery while the engine is not running?

Auto-Vox wrote back and it does have a protection circuit at 11.6V which I felt was to low so I bought this which is adjustable and set it to 12.1V. I bench tested it and works as intended.

I used the easiest method I could.
Used the new mirror mount as in the other post.
Did not remove any panels except the small one on the ACC box so I could get to those three bolts in the bracket.

I was able to push the cable under the visor/windshield panel very easily, loosen grab handle and transitioned cable to other side of A-frame tucked it in all the way down to the carpet. Then ran it back to the firewall to the center console. Pulled back the carpet and connected the protection box to the B+ and the acc to the acc in the Aux switch cables, see previous post. Thanx for the pic Jeepnkev was a big help.

The backup camera I ran behind the kick plate and under this sill guards, under the carpet on the rear tire hump and up to where that sub woofer panel meets the body, tucked the cable in there. Then ran it up behind the headliner covers where the camera is mounted top center.

I am going to run it like this for a bit and may end up with a spare tire mount later on.

All these YouTube videos I watched have you removing all these panels and going across the roll bar for the rear camera cable. This is non-sense as the cables tucked in every easy.
