Ordered my SECOND Jeep Wrangler 392 !! Some changes !!

Same at my dealer. He was going to look into it but we are in agreement to not change the order as it may add risk for more delays.
Hope that’s not the case….

What other delays have you had on your order?

Can you tell us how this add-on can be done to orders I'm BX status? My sales manager said he has tried multiple times to do the change but has been unsuccessful.
Whoever at the dealership has access to change orders should be able to do it. For me it is the owners son that runs our dealership. I personally do not have the access so I could not tell you step by step, however it was done for my client so I assure you it can be done.

My boss said it may actually make it come faster. I was under that impression as well until he said that.

It mainly will depend on what you add/remove. It can take longer if it adds another step in the process that requires a wait on the part, or if it is a part that ends up backordered.

None specific to my order, just what I have read from others. Mine is fairly simple, only added tow, tailgate reinforcement, camera, headliner and cargo group. Its a month old and expecting a long wait. Dealer has received 2 of 4 allocations and 2 customer sold orders that were placed in November.

Its all speculation, no one knows what part they may run out of that could cause a delay. We were just guessing that regular glass may be more common and available than a newly added option.

I think the important thing is that if your jeep comes with gorilla glass and you break the windshield, the insurance company has to replace it like-for-like. I think this alone makes it worth it, as I would have upgraded to gorilla glass if (Okay let's face it... when) the windshield breaks anyways, but would have to do so at an extra cost to myself.

I'm impressed that you not only ordered one but then a second 392. In the Houston area Ive been told that there were only 8 allocations for the entire area and there are none available, Any dealer that I found that has any vehicles coming in are being sold for 10-25K over MSRP and dont have unordered allocations so that no custom orders can be made,
Our dealer - outside Austin is selling w/o markups... they had one allocation at the time. You might call around to outlying areas... we were told orders only, none were being shipped to dealers. I’ve seen a few posts on here that some dealers have them so that’s confusing.

Funny, that's what I've been hearing, too. I've also heard of a lot of dealerships advertising at MSRP and then marking them up over MSRP when somebody comes in. So maybe that's how some dealers have them on the ground, because they've tried to change the agreement after the person's order came in? In any case.......from watching the market, it seems like a lot are wanting 10k over sticker. To me 2.5-5k is the most I'd be willing to do.

Just as a summary - I ordered a 392 12/7/21 and it arrived in early April in less-than-optimal condition, so I had my deposit refunded and did not purchase the truck. I then ordered another one two days ago and noticed there were a couple of changes from the December order sheet. They now offer the KO2s as the standard tire mounted as OWL only. If you want BSWs you have to upgrade to the Falcon MT for $195 (or have someone flip them after you get it of course). BUT- that is not the interesting thing. You can now order your 392 with Gorilla Glass from the factory for an additional $95. Super bargain, and I was quick to add this option!!!
Already had to replace my glass once in AZ.... :(

My 392 got a small crack from a rock kicked up from a vehicle.
Sorry to hear that. We just had the windshield replaced on our YUKON XL - after several chips, in last years cold it cracked all the way across. I was SO HOPEFULLY for the Gorilla Glass on the Jeep - if it needs replacing I’m going to ck and see if we can replace it w/ Gorilla Glass. Best of luck for no more rocks on your windshield.
