Just as a summary - I ordered a 392 12/7/21 and it arrived in early April in less-than-optimal condition, so I had my deposit refunded and did not purchase the truck. I then ordered another one two days ago and noticed there were a couple of changes from the December order sheet. They now offer the KO2s as the standard tire mounted as OWL only. If you want BSWs you have to upgrade to the Falcon MT for $195 (or have someone flip them after you get it of course). BUT- that is not the interesting thing. You can now order your 392 with Gorilla Glass from the factory for an additional $95. Super bargain, and I was quick to add this option!!!

Vehicle options being made available after orders have been placed is not all that unexpected for a “launch edition,” but disappointing.
I’d like to add the Gorilla Glass from the factory too. I’m being told no changes can be made to an order once it is in BX status(prior to VIN)however, which doesn’t make sense to me. Not a big deal but I’m now considering waiting to see how things(options, availability, pricing, local offerings) pan out over the next year or two.

That is BS. I made an edit to a clients 392 order which was in BX status this morning. He saw the gorilla glass option and we added it.

If it's helpful- mine's in BX status also... and Josh made the change for me...
So......there was some confusion at the dealership, but happily I was able to make a couple of minor option changes including adding the Gorilla Glass to my BX status order. Woohoo! Thanks for the heads up about this and for the help confirming this could be done.

Even still until it is In D status and has a vin you should be able to make changes. BA status means it’s a pending order that is not yet available for scheduling. D status is when it is scheduled and has a vin number assigned. D1 is scheduled with VIN and sequenced for production.
Yeah. I don’t fully understand why I was being told I couldn’t make changes. Glad it was supposedly resolved. Still waiting for confirmation.
I had originally asked to have the tailgate reinforcement removed from my order. They couldn’t do it. Apparently because it was over a weekend and still in BA. The salesperson assumed no other changes could be made after that. I called yesterday and insisted they try again, and voila, it worked!
I'm impressed that you not only ordered one but then a second 392. In the Houston area Ive been told that there were only 8 allocations for the entire area and there are none available, Any dealer that I found that has any vehicles coming in are being sold for 10-25K over MSRP and dont have unordered allocations so that no custom orders can be made,

He was awesome every step of the way during the ordering process and was quick to check on status over the 4.5 month wait. They are only asking MSRP.

I am not seeing Gorilla Glass as an option on the build a Jeep site. I would like to get it if possible. Will stop by dealer and ask. My order is also BX last I checked. I am also wondering if it's another part that they will be out of that will delay the order even more.
Can you tell us how this add-on can be done to orders I'm BX status? My sales manager said he has tried multiple times to do the change but has been unsuccessful.
Same at my dealer. He was going to look into it but we are in agreement to not change the order as it may add risk for more delays.

You are correct. Gorilla glass is a lighter, more impact-resistant material being used as an windshield option.
