How long did it take to get the PCM back?

Is the 392 (especially the XR Recon) OK on road corners at various speeds--no excessive body roll (considering it is a high cg vehicle) ?

Anyways, with the '21.... after months and months of silence from me dealer regarding my order, I had a "come to Jesus" meeting with my salesguy and his manager. Turns out, they sold my order about two months before, never told me (never even told me it was arriving) and marked on $20K ADM because the GM "said to."

I flipped out, told them where to shove it, got my deposit back and went to another dealer. The dealer I am at now has still been 4 months waiting, but I like them They're just a smaller dealer. I went to the area's largest dealer originally to assure I got allocation of the initial orders (which I did, I was second of 9). So I'm now patiently waiting with a respectable dealer that I have done business with several times in the past...

It’ll be worth the wait. Sorry you had to go through all the crap with the first dealer. You may want to consider a complaint to better business bureau or your area’s consumer protection agency. Let the dealer know there are consequences for screwing over a customer.

hello group.. I received my 2021 392 XR in Snazzberry Pearl on Dec 21 (order placed Aug 6). First impression.... FREAKING INCREDIBLE... at 500 miles.. engine light comes on.. turns out to be a cooked O2 sensor... hmm... ok.. things happen... dealer had to order... 3 or 4 days later... they tell me they cant fix as scheduled.. the O2 sensor was cross-threaded into the Cat... had to order a new Cat... during the wait time, i put on about 1000 miles... FREAKING INCREDIBLE.. She sits today at the dealer so they can replace the Cat and O2 sensor.. I just hope they get the exhaust reassembled properly.... ugh.... Also, I installed a set of Rock Slide Engineering Gen III step sliders.... I highly recommend... very nice product and makes it WAY easier for my wife to get in.... doesnt hurt my 64 year old body to have a nice functional step too!!

Bummer @Chili4x4 ! I take they were okay with you driving it while the o2 sensor was in error? That would've sucked having to garage it at only 500 miles!

No worries. I actually stumbled upon your story in some other thread. That does suck for them to sell it out from under you. Problem is that they can make more money than msrp right now because people are willing to pay it. Greed trumps integrity for some people. My dealer did me right fortunately. I agreed to pay MSRP and that is what they charged me. I ordered it before finding the people selling it cheaper.

Just hang in there. One I got a build sheet, things started moving quickly and that makes the waiting more tolerable when you see movement.

Let me tell you again. This really is a special vehicle. Absolutely no reason to make something like this other than pure dumb grins. I was showing my girls the torque reserve launch and my daughter wanted to time 0-60. I told her it would be a waste because we were going uphill and it would be slow. She wanted to do it anyway. I got it into torque reserve and was monkeying with accelerator to get launch rpm to 2000 or so (trying to get less wheelspin). She started the watch about a 1/2 second early when I was messing with throttle. AMAX shifting kicked in on this run (can really tell a difference in shift firmness and speed). She timed 5.13s and we were going uphill with 3 people in car.

I had a hard time getting my old turbocharged fox mustangs to run 5.1 0-60 (due to traction issues).

Worth every penny and worth the wait.

Yes... I made sure the service writer recorded that she said it was good to drive... as I indicated.. the cat was getting replaced so any issues there would be gone... I questioned her about the upstream side.. and again.. said no problem driving... ..plus,,,. I have been very "restrained" ......

I mean.... you won't be winning any slalom challenges in a 392 I can assure you of that. It's not terrible but i also wouldn't recommend smashing the gas at the same time the wheel is turned. I had my first highway driving experience with it over the weekend and at 80mph its a bit floaty (mine is XR) but did not feel unsafe.

No excessive body roll, but if you go into a corner to fast, it is not confidence inspiring. The steering does not give much feedback and feels very numb in corners. Hard cornering is not fun and I don't push it in curves. Also good to be easy on throttle in curves. Now in gentle curves, you can still have fun easing into the throttle coming out of the turn, but it does not handle well by any car standards. Handles great compared to other wranglers I have driven.

Feels fine at 80mph to me but I'm coming from a 2013 JKUR. In regular driving, I've been pleasantly surprised at how quiet, confident and composed it is. Steering does require active participation. It is not like my wifes land cruiser where you can hold the wheel straight with minimal input. Jeeps require constant minor input and when the wind is blowing hard, require lots of input. With my old jeep, I sometimes wondered if something was wrong with the vehicle when I was in strong crosswinds.

I am not one to test cornering limits in vehicles because finding that limit can mean running off road, spinning around or rolling over. I am pretty conservative in curves and very conservative in curves when it is wet. I don't mind testing limits of straight line traction because I can keep a car straight while boiling the rear tires, but have only practiced drifting on dirt in a side by side.

Got the jeep from the dealer... new cat and O2 sensor installed... they actually did a nice job with the replacement. I was a bit worried about the fit and finish of the exhaust after install..but it looks good... Very nice having that Snazzberry beast back in the action without a MIL glowing!!

After almost 4k miles I still love this thing. It is so EPIC! Every cold start the 392 comes to life with an authoritative bark that seems a little different every time you start it. I almost always hit the remote start walking up to it.

Driving is a blast. You are sitting up higher than most vehicles and can absolutely put the hurt on just about anyone off the line. Hard not to feel like the vehicle is superior to other cars on the road. Acceleration is effortless and the 392 is super responsive. In c&d tests it beats the g63amg 30-50 and 50-70. Passing other cars makes me grin every time.

I also now like that you have to actually drive it. It has some torque steer. Wanders in wind and uneven surfaces but very manageable and adds to the experience.

I’ve gotten used to the power and handling and for all you guys waiting just hang in there. It will be every bit as awesome as you think

Just quit reading these posts . I know when I was waiting, I would search youtube almost daily looking for new videos. Always looking on here for new posts. That does make you want it more...... Then I might feel hopeless with the waiting and quit looking for a few days. It will come though. My 5 month wait was miserable at times, but y'all just hang in there. The wait will be worth it.......... Then you can get on here and make the waiters feel jealous.

Believe me, that is not my intent. I just know when I was waiting, I loved reading and watching all the stuff people put out here. Ridiculous to watch same videos over and over, but I did it.

Any buyer’s remorse will disappear in a second after you pull out of the dealership for the first time with an “amazed" grin on your face.

I giggled and laughed (I'm a 60 yr old female) when I stepped down on it for the first time with my husband and salesman that had helped us order it Just like you said it squatted down and made the best growl!!! They were surprised and impressed.
