Long LCA install

From my understanding, it’s not the quality of the LCA per se. It’s the caster angle the LCA provides.

I’m so glad I found this thread because tracking on the road was literally my only concern about buying this 392. I test drove a 2026 and tracking was my number 1 focal point. It drove ok but now that I know it can be better, I plan to make the Mopar LCA one of my first mods.

Luckily, I have access to an Auto Skills shop on post with about 20 lifts and a bunch of tools for about $6 per hour for the lift.

Will I need an alignment after installing these?
No alignment required as the only adjustable component is the tie rod for toe and you are not touching that.

Thanks.

Also, I will be installing Clayton Performance Springs. Will I still be left with enough caster angle with those springs and the Mopar LCA or would I need adjustable LCAs?

I have NO plans to lift the 392. Might only do 37’s.

Thanks.

You sure will like the Clayton springs. I got them on last weekend and I can feel the difference. Got about 1.1 inch additional height at the front and 0.5 inch at the back. It gave back the jeep the stance it deserves and made the bf Goodrich 315 tyres pop out. Visually the car looks so much better.
On the other hand the handling is much better and the car feels more planted, bumps are less wobbly and speed bumps are less risky as it use to hit the bump stop quiet often!

Highway is also more enjoyable.
My combo= whiteline swaybar (Soft setting) + LCA + Fox ATS + Clayton 392 Performance Springs

Pending the shocks.

Which LCA did you install?

When should I be concerned about pinion angle?
When you get vibrations from the driveshaft.
If you are running the stock front Rzeppa driveshaft you won't have a problem with vibration unless you raise the Jeep several inches. You can also add the FAD motor to the front axle which allows you disconnect the front driveshaft from the axle. You also need a Tazer to force 2WD to make this work.

Thanks.

It's a good idea to go with adjustible LCAs in any case. I had to extend my adjustible LCAs an additional 1/8" (a little goes a long way) to get to 6°, and that's with the stock 1.5" factory lift height. If you want to completely optimize your tracking, forego the MOPAR LCAs and upgrade. Years ago, a member on the JL Forum had the idea of using the LCAs from the MOPAR lift kit as an inexpensive option. It helps, but it will leave you wanting a little more castor. And...no, you won't need an alignment afterwards. I've done this exact mod on my past three JLs.

Bottom line: the MOPARs will get you to 5.5° - you'll want to be at 6°
Plus...there's the bling factor. The Teraflex adjustible LCAs are a work of art. Very heavy-duty. The MOPARs look exactly as you'd expect for $50. Like everything else, you get what you pay for.

Thanks for your input. It’s all taken into consideration.

I figured I would be good with 5.5° of caster. I’ve been wondering if 6.0° of caster angle and greater where pinion angle starts to become a problem.

I don’t mind dropping the money for adjustable LCA but just wanted to be sure it’s going to be worth it.
