Jeep 392 MPG / Gas Mileage thread

I hate to do this but I gotta call out this complete bullshit. No one is getting 18.5mpg at 80 on the highway in this brick unless it's a 5% downhill grade with a tailwind. Try again.
Well, call it what you’d like. I’m not sure why anyone would make shit like that but whatever.

It happens all too frequently on all the various vehicle forums, I hate MPG liars.

I had no idea that was a thing. Honestly, I can’t imagine why anyone would make up numbers. I’m pretty sure my 18.5 didn’t impress anybody, and that certainly wasn’t my intent.

If you don’t like the MPG on your 392, don’t buy a TRX it’s 30-50% worse…. My TRX is getting 10.5 right now with a rooftop tent and a bike rack….

My TRX gets 10.9 despite my best efforts. My 392 is just broke in as of yesterday and is averaging 16 mpg at 80 mph.

How do you get out of the Jeep averaging 80mph? Sorry, Ima smarta$$ I know…

I don’t care about mpg, insurance is the most expensive part of ownership of a 392…

I am right at 4500 miles and average 15.1 mpg. 90% freeway driving.

My ins. actually dropped ~$95/6mo from my 2020 PowerWagon, probably still more than a reg Wrangler would be but it was a pleasant surprise.

I'm getting around 15 MPG in mixed driving with generally moderate traffic. This went up by about 0.5 MPG once I got over 2,000 miles on the odometer.

Insurance is more than fuel annually for me. I will only drive it about 8k miles a year at most. That is about $2k in fuel. Insurance is more. Clean record with no claims.

Holy crap. That is less than a 1/3 of what I pay.
I’m paying $1,400 a year in H-Town TX. I have excellent credit and a clean driving record. We pay the same for my wife’s Expedition. Freaking EXPENSIVE!

EDIT- Getting about 12.5mpg.
