Finally hit D1 Status after starting 15 months ago!

I wonder if the color choice has anything do to with your delay....The yellow XR is going to be one of the rarest 392's because that window when both were available was so short. You are gonna have something special when you get it. I'd wait it out and get exactly what I wanted. Or....go order or buy another 392 somewhere else and keep that HVY XR order. You will be able to sell that thing for a ridiculous premium.

I feel for you Yukon....you've gotten a raw deal and I hope they will get your jeep built. Crazy times we are living in. Hang in there.

Thinking about waiting made me think of this from the movie Idiocracy which if you haven't seen it, you must go watch it. This comedy is actually a prophecy that is coming true right before our eyes....just happening a little faster than the movie predicted it seems.

FWIW, when I was looking at build sheets on jeeps, I did see the D1 to D regress listed on several of them so this is not an unheard of or even really rare thing these days... Still sucks though. Only thing I would do, if you haven't done it yet is get on the phone with a real person instead of doing just jeep chat.....once I got a dialog going with them, I started getting email updates saying my build was prioritized and things did seem to start moving faster. Maybe coincidence and maybe they were blowing smoke up my @$$ but made me feel better anyway to talk to a person instead of the "how are you doing, hope you're having a great day" jeep chat bs.....I'm not here for niceties....Where's my dad gum Jeep!?

Sorry to hear this latest news. You have been waiting a long time. As @hardhat said, maybe the color changed caused it to regress to D. Ultimately, you will get what you ordered and the experience from owning the 392 will have you forget the order/build challenges. Hang in there!

It very well could be color choice… I find it very odd that in over a month of seeing the first off the assembly line in high velocity, that there is literally only ONE in existence. Wondering if it’s a paint issue, or they’re holding to get them out right around Jeep Beach Week to go along with the announcement of the beach edition. Still, very very frustrating watching it go back to D status after finally hitting D1.

I am new here but totally impressed with the forum and its collective knowledge. I tried to order the XR last month and was told it was not available. I already have "D" status w/o the XR pkg. The dealer also said they would upgrade my 392 on arrival with the XR pkg and all it includes. Do I have any reason to still be optimistic that things are going well and that the dealer can do the XR upgrade? What price can I expect with the non-assembly-line upgrade?

Since it seems 2022 will be the last year for the HEMI I was desperate for the XR pkg and still am. Dealers can't pass a saliva test with a desperate buyer on the hook.
