I had no idea, but this could explain why switching to quiet mode on the exhaust is almost like turning on noise canceling headphones. The interior gets remarkably quieter. It might have something to do with the active noise control in addition to closing the exhaust valves.

To me it is crazy how quiet the interior gets in quiet mode, especially with hard top and full doors on.

I've had the 392 for 1800 miles now. I installed an amp, capacitor, and sub woofer. Issue #1: active noise cancelling AND "fake engine noise". The car creates fake exhaust sounds which, even with the stereo off, is played through the speakers and especially the woofer. Several ways to fix this, some involve messing with the wiring harness. The easiest, and the way I chose, remove the 4 microphones overhead above front and rear seats. Remove them completely so they don't rattle.

Issue #2: sky one touch mutes bass output once open completely. You can bump the close button to get the output back but I'm looking for anyone that knows which wire from the one touch connects to the stereo so I can permanently disconnect it without impacting the function of the roof itself??

Did you ever figure out how to eliminate lowering of bass output, when SOT is in full open position?

FYI the Op’s info about fake engine noise being pumped through the sound system is not accurate. He’s describing the ANC noise canceling sounds that you’ve been struggling with.

Here’s some info on the bass drop out. It appears that it is “functioning as designed”. Tap the close button on the SOT and the bass will be restored.

The owners manual also refers to two modes for the audio system. One for the SOT open "a slight pause in audio may be heard when opening and closing the Power Sliding Top as a result of the UConnect system switching between Power Top Closed and Power Top Open audio modes."

I would guess factory did this "two modes" as an attempt to protect the subwoofer. With top open, driving at hwy speeds, one may tend to play system louder to compensate. Problem is, this limits bass at slower speeds as well.
I can hear when a speaker is at its limits, any louder and you loose sound quality.

Try that trick with tapping the SOT button again and see if it restores the bass. I know that’s not a permanent solution for you but at least you’ll know if it works. For what it’s worth I opened mine today and didn’t notice much of a difference between open and closed with the audio system. I’m also not much of an audiophile.

Yes it does work. Hears how to hear the difference. Drive a while playing music what's recorded with strong bass. Your hearing will get used to that sound.
With music still playing at same volume, open top. You should notice a drop-off in lower frequencies. Press Close button long enough that it doesn't automatically close and lower frequencies will resume to normal level. However, now my top is not fully open. That's why I'm trying to figure out a by-pass solution.

Is the Bluetooth phone function tied to the same mics for ANC? If the ANC mics are removed will you lose the mics that pick up the phone for Bluetooth calling as well?

No. They are separate mics, in rear view mirror I think. I tested to make sure I can still use hands free calling through Uconnect.

Glad I found this thread. I was starting to wonder about that sub being employed when I press the button to open up the muffler.
It has become rather annoying, & I have been using it less. 392 doesn't need such tricks.
The Hemi sounds good on it's own.
I removed the two rear microphones. It was very easy, remove the center section of the rear roll bar by removing 7 torx screws.
The connector is right there on each side. I disconnected the quick connector. Taped the unplugged connectors up to the roll bar, no rattles, no cuts.

Now I need to figure out how to get to the mics on the center roll bar. I am looking forward to listening to just Hemi exhaust sound. Then I can decide if I need the Borla exhaust.

I am in the same boat- I easily found and disconnected the rear ANC mics- have you found the front 2 ? Have any advice or links? Link above differs from my ‘24- or at least I think it does. Thx in advance

I was wondering the same. I am beginning to think the ‘24s don’t have the front roll bar mics. I don’t see them.

If I listen to my wife I’d miss the Empire State Building in front of my face most times- but - I agree with you - I don’t see mics up front in roll bar. Took tear 2 out and still same issue albeit a “bit” improved

I thought about unplugging the sub to see what difference that makes. But it looks like a lot of panel removal to do it. I’m sure I’ll do it one of these days.

Well the mics are in front of the main speakers in the Roll bar. Small little grilles in the plastic like the two rear ones. To get to them you open the front doors and remove the side panel on the roll bar. I think it's one screw(torx ) 15 I think. The plastic panel has a tab it slides into and you can use a small plastic panel puller to pop it. You just be careful and gently pull down that side cover on the roll bar. Don't pull down much, you don't want to bend the panel so it doesn't go back in places very well.
Do all this through your front doors, open. So you can get to everything.
You will see the little mics , when you pull down that side panel on the roll bar. The connector is there also, right beside the speakers. I disconnected at the connector, & put all four in a ziplock bag and put in the center console, for the next owner : )

It makes a big difference. I don't know who thought that was an enhancement?

Do you have a ‘24? I don’t see the mic grills in the front sound bar like I did in the rear roll bar. See pic.

Put in low range, drive around a bit at around 2,000 rpm’s. If you hear nothing, you are lucky.
