Apps tracking and reporting how you drive your Jeep 392?

Nothing like what you describe. Screen shot?
While I was preparing my screen shots, redacting my personal info from them, it looks like Excaliburitto beat me to it, but I might as well post mine for the effort spent.

As you may know, the home page is several sections, their sequence of appearance is customizable using the Edit Dashboard feature at the bottom of the scrolled screen, so your sequence may be different than mine. Although, no matter how I resequence the sections and click "SAVE', it has never saved my desired sequence.

So, here are three screen shots to show relative positioning of that easily-overlooked "All Trips":

By the way, while I was fussing with that app earlier, in the All Trips section, I inadvertently twice clicked on a road sign icon that was adjacent to an address shown there, to which I received a reply each time at the top of my screen saying "Location sent".

Sent to where, I wondered? To the Stellantis Mother Ship?

Except I logged into connect.jeep.com just now, saw the red notification dot on the bell near my login name, clicked on it, and was presented with this (Jeep nickname redacted):

Send & Go? To my Jeep, apparently.

So, what have I done? Have I remotely programmed my factory Jeep navigation to map out those locations as destinations, the next time I fire up the Jeep?

If so, doing it from the app's "All Trips" screen is a very time-consuming way of doing it, considering all the clicking I performed to get there. Rather just do it from UConnect.

No biggie, though.

Nope nothing like that, can’t scroll. Ends at service and maintenance

Here is all the information shown in the Jeep iPhone App. I think this shows on the web as well, but Stellantis doesn't like my WiFi's privacy settings and won't display the page for me.

As you can see Stellantis deemed that had hard accelerated and took a hard turn. Have no idea what their criteria are since I was definitely not driving aggressively.

I really think having all this info is cool, but I'd like to be able to own my own data, be able to ask Stellantis to remove it if I request so, and have the ability to turn this feature on and off as I wish.

Nope nothing past service and maintenance

What year (and model) of Jeep do you have?

That is one of the apps I deleted and blocked access from phone and computer.
That won't stop the Jeep to send information to Stellantis, albeit only 2024+ models are affected / infected.

Don’t know about prior years, but the 2024 models are monitored as hell. Judgmental “hard breaking”, “hard acceleration”, “hard cornering” are noted and available at the connect.jeep.com portal.

Bobo57 has a 23’ 20th Anniversary model and his app does not have the All Trips feature.

You have a 2024 and so do I.

Makes me wonder if they still collect data from prior years but simply do not share it with owners?

Do I sound overly suspicious? Well, I am. LOL.

Let me lay your suspicions to rest. Yes, they collect data on previous years.............. Ford has patented a program that will report you if you are speeding in a Ford product to be installed in new Fords.................

Sheesh, I had no idea this was there. They record seemingly everything about your usage:

Aerial map of each trip. My list as of today extends back to July 14.
Timestamp when you turned on your engine, and location.
Timestamp when you turned off your engine, and location.
Instances of hard braking.
Instances of hard acceleration.
Instances of hard turning.
Driver alerts for speed curfew, boundary, and valet.
Trip data: distance, average speed, top speed, start time, end time, duration, percentage of daytime driving with hrs/minutes, percentage of nighttime driving with hrs/mins, idle duration.
Average mpg.
Total consumption in gallons.

I suppose if I was a parent I might look at this data to see where my kid was going and how well he drove there, but otherwise it seems Jeep is doing the very same to me.

I couldn't find the ESG score, or were you joking? :D

I'm glad a filed that opt-out of sharing this data, assuming it's what it seems to be and is not fake.

@SunsetHill, do you see any impact yet in the Jeep app tracking since you've filled that opt-out form? Have you by any chance called the phone number (listed in another post in this thread) too?

Thanks!

There was a thread that mentioned this some time back, when people were first getting the 2024s delivered. The person may have had the issue after replacing the front glass... I can't remember all the details. I could not find the thread, and there is not much mention of it online anywhere, but it is in the 2024 manual... barely. No mention of what it does or how it works that I could find, just references to the warning you might get.

Traffic Sign Recognition - This explains why I keep receiving a "Construction Area Ahead" notification when I see the bright orange construction sign directly in front of my Jeep.

I don't visit the app regularly but I logged into it just now and looks like everything is still there, including a trip I took today that appears in the "All Trips" section. It may be too soon to know if my opt-out has been honored and I don't know if I would get some type of acknowledgement that they honored it, such as an email or such.

If I get an acknowledgement or find some app features have newly gone missing, I'll post here. Feel free to ask again at any time down the road. Ha, I made a funny.

I'm too afraid to call that number because I interpreted that phone call action as what you do to get Jeep to stop collecting your data entirely, whereas I interpreted my online opt-out as a request not to stop collecting it but to just stop sharing it with others. If they stopped collecting it entirely because of my request, I fear I may be denied features for which I have already been given up to 10 years to enjoy them for free. And if I then complained, they would inform me that my phone call was my authorization to screw myself over.

I deleted all Jeep Apps from my phone and computer. I requested no sharing my information. There is nothing they offer me worth the constant LOOKING over my shoulder.

This site may be helpful for some. I have not researched it or know if it's effective, but it looks interesting at face value. Won't prevent tracking but maybe it can help minimize data sharing.

It's my own willful ignorance, but I couldn't care less about this. The effort in this day and age to try and be "invisible" is too much effort and leads to paranoia imo. We're tracked in some capacity from using OnX, carrying your phone, getting online, owning a firearm, making a call, etc. It is what it is. Drive your Jeep like you stole it. If you own it, who gives af  . Have fun my Jeepsters.

Also, the sensitivity of how they're measuring "hard acceleration" and "hard turning" seems to be quite high. When you drill into those specific trips, it'll show on the map where those "events" occurred. Majority of the time the "hard acceleration" and "hard steering" are recorded backing out of my driveway and turning around the cul de sac. I'm not backing out at 7k rpms and burning out at 6am lol.
