1 Month and 3,704 Miles

Looks like another 392 engine blew up. They had a few other post as about it. Apparently going under 10mph making a left turn it stalled out, then they restarted and the engine blew up and there were “pieces lying on the ground” whatever that means. I commented that they should join this forum so we can follow along to see what happened, hopefully they do and we get the full story!

Yikes! Hope they can get the engine replaced in a timely manner. I'd be hating driving the loaner car and all the inconvenience.

connecting rod probably dis-connected and made that hole. I don't think the hole caused the failure. I think the failure caused the hole.

I'm looking at getting a used 21 Bronco and there are all these things to know (how to figure out the engine build date, which dates to avoid, etc). They apparently had a faulty set of valve components go through which caused the issue.

Their goal is no failures.
1/100 isn’t horrible.
I’ve heard of just 4. All on the forums.
Consider there are those who aren’t on forums.
Roughly estimating here, less than 2/10% are failing.
Acceptable and “The why” of warranty coverage.

If we as consumers never bought anything that had a given failure rate, even less than 1%, we would buy nothing. Phones, cars, HVACS, restaurants… Everything has failures.

Make that 5, same thing happened to my 22 with 5400 miles on it Dec 31st. Engine replacement, all parts arrived except a backordered oil cooler part. Dealer says they will lift the body off the frame to replace the engine . Working with Jeep Cares to try and get a maxcare 120k 8yr warranty. We shall see if they actually care!

Isn’t this the least that FCA can do for a 7x jeep owner that purchased an 80k wrangler? I at-least tried for a hellcat replacement first… wishful thinking

Personally, I don’t believe they care how many times you bought a Jeep. You stop, there’s dozens behind who have yet obtained their dream vehicle. They’re right in line behind you.
These manufactures have data that would blow your mind. Hell, even the manufacturer I work for, has an insane ability to crunch data, track buyers, trends, web traffic, and ultimately, the almighty dollar.

Hemis notoriously tick. It’s either an acceptance, or it will drive you crazy. My first, all in between and last SRT, and now this one, all tick.
I did discover there seems to be less tick with pennzoil than Mobil 1.

Me too! Waiting on new motor install. 4600 miles. I hope statistics are on our side and it never happens again.
