Rubicon 20th Anniversary Edition Discussion

I’m 135 and still waiting…….
Just Shitty - I am in the same boat👎
And the 20A is beginning to lose its charm and value with the 2024 hitting before these 2023’s! Food for the thought - Had this very discussion with my dealer today and they are definitely concerned as well and agree!

I was at the dealer today -2024 392’s will be arriving to many in early July…long before our 2023 20A’s finally show up since February 2023 and these are FACTS - That’s a problem for the dealers🫤
I take it that’s why so many 20a buyers are talking about canceling and ordering the 2024????

Well FWIW, I like my 20a... and I would not want to trade it for a 2024.

If you cancel, and place a new order, you start to wait all over.... Just because SOME 2024s will be delivered, that does not mean that all of the options you want will be available for build sooner.

Remember most of those 24s will be 4xe models....

Saw this 20th AEV Level II this weekend at a dealer in MD. Salesman said $10k over the window sticker of $115k.

BTW it looks like they slapped the new screen on with Velcro
Unfortunately that’s almost all of them anymore… following Tesla’s “slap a tablet in the center and call it done’ trend.

I have the 2022 WL74 2 Row JGC Summit Reserve 5.7L Hemi and I can assure you that Stellantis did a great job on the redesign of the tech screen within the cabin on this particular vehicle - It’s the waterfall design and really looks great and is fully integrated within the center console / Not an after thought “Stick On” Tablet appearance like the 2024 Wrangler I saw yesterday✌️

I get it. But the point I was making was that the "device" approach is the trend, and virtually every manufacturer does it on multiple lines. "Integrated" is less and less common for a reason: as the control center, they are highly used, yet highly unreliable: they are meant to be swapped out, not repaired, without having to rip out the dash. I too think it's ugly. And at least Jeep kept the dials, buttons, and knobs. I recently spent 10 days with a Model 3 and it was the worst experience I've ever had with a rental. Charging stations are like hives with angry bees buzzing around waiting for their landing spot. But like it or not, that dash design is the trend.

Completely Understood and Agreed and many of the reasons I don’t own any of these vehicles….
Still waiting for my 2023 20A 392 and don’t need any more hi tech gadgets to fail in this beast I purchased to explore this beautiful country before it all implodes, as even the 2022 Unconnect 5 system that I have in my JGC WL74 is quite glitchy and certainly has a long way to go for Stellantis to work out the glitches moving forward ✌️

Ford did a great job of integrating it into the Bronco dash. With that being said, I have a FE Bronco and the screen seems gigantic. I use my Bronco as one of my daily drivers. I listen to XM most of the time (2 or 3 stations) and rarely use carplay to text or voice text when I drive. Climate controls are separate and if they weren't, I'd just set to 70 degrees and leave it anyway. So I use the touch screen on a regular basis for pretty much nothing on a typical drive.

There are a couple of cool things you can use the screen system for like setting the level of ambient light or altering the audio features, but in general they don't seem super helpful to me tbh. I think a lot of people just want them because it's a touch screen and techy without even thinking about how useful they are (or aren't). I dunno, maybe other people use them for more things or more often than I. I guess trail maps and such are cool (like on the Bronco screen below).

On that last part, to use trail maps well, I would want the Jeep screen to have a little more vertical to it. It seems they extended it horizontally a bunch, but not much vertically. So I'm not sure how much more useful maps will be on it.

Ps. I am way into tech and an early adopter of a lot of things. I just never quite latched on to the auto touch screen thing I guess.

The truth is the touch screens are actually very dangerous while these mammoth beasts are rolling down the highway or on the trails - Smart people keep two hands on the wheel especially when driving off road - My two cents - Again, everybody should get what they want and enjoy, after all that’s what it is all about✌️

I will just let the picture below speak for how little I like/trust technology, my 13yo JK has never told me to try again later.

Broncos have that stuff a decent amount. My TCU (modem) went out on mine and I waited from January until about May to get a replacement.

Ps. I drove it around during that whole time without a modem and it was totally fine.

I will also say this, I have started using backup camera in addition to actually turning my head around. However, don't need a touch screen for that. My FJ cruiser had a little screen that showed up in the rearview mirror when the backup was on. Which I dunno, maybe makes a little more (a lot more) sense since your eyes are already up at the rearview mirror when you're backing up opposed to looking at the middle of your instrument cluster column when you're backing up.

It seems to happen a lot. Mine had June 6th or something. It then changes to NaN day when it gets to the projected delivery day, but it's still in E or whatever.

Mine finally moved to KZ last Friday and I have a window sticker.

Did you get your 20A yet or did you pass on it?

Still waiting. No new updates.

Anyone receive their 20A’s that have been shipped in June 2023?

Wondering also, how many did show up and people passed because of the 2024 or simply didn’t feel the 20A was worth the up charge especially since they have depreciated quite a bit since the 2024’s 392’s are already on the lots being sold with all the new upgrades.
