RKKRAWL Hydro Blue Build

No, I used a replacement connector for the license plate light and ran that wire to the right tail light, up through the wiring harness and through the tailgate to the re-located license plate.

After 19 weeks got the Rock Krawler X2 for the Rubicon 392, still waiting on the axles. Kinda expected 10K to look a little more awe inspiring ;):);):)

RK 4.5" X2 lift 4.5" rear coils. I can lower the front to 3.5" with the coilovers if needed.

I’m curious how high it will be when done compared to your current height. You’ve been spot on documenting your build, take some good measurements for us Pre and post lift

According to Rock Krawler it's a 4.5" lift on top of the 392s 2" stock lift which should net 6.5" of total lift. Stock 33" tires vs Nitto Trailer Grappler 40" tires should net 7" or 3.5" ride height, Aired down it should only be about an inch or so of tire lift. I put in a Teraflex 1.5 spacer lift and showed the height gain which was only a little over an inch. My old TJ had 23" of belly clearance with 37s but the JL has a much lower frame height, if I calculated correctly I should end up with around 21 or 22 inches of belley height.

Got the panels back from the body shop and starting to install them. Brightens up the interior quite a bit, it was kind of drab with all the black and gray.
This is great, what did the paint shop charge you?

The black trim is anchored to the fender by clips and will stay once inserted, Sometimes you can remove the rivet with a punch in the center, most times you will need to drill them out. You can get replacement rivets that will work through Harbor Freight or Amazon. Pictures of cut trim, last is of inner fender support. You might be able to just remove the center box section and trim the front for the light.
@RKKRAWL – I got my AAL fender liners so will finally be starting this mod tomorrow. I think I AM going to try to preserve the rear part of the inner fender support, removing just the center boxy section, so that I can potentially use Rokblokx mud flaps for snowy highway driving (which mount to the triangle support bracket at the back).

With that in mind, just one final question before I start: did you use a Dremel to cut the black plastic inner fender support while it was still attached to the painted fender shell? If so, was it difficult to avoid plunging too deep and cutting into the fender shell? I was hoping/thinking of using a router attachment for my Dremel to control the plunge depth of the cut, but I think there is not enough room to maneuver the router tool. The idea of using a circular cutting disk scares me...

I took off the inner liner and then used a dremel to cut the lip off and the put it back on. If you don't do a lot of hard core wheeling I would just remove the center block and trim for the light chop kit and try it out first. You can always go back and remove the whole inner liner for clearance if needed.

More boxes arrived today but some got separated during shipment, so they will be arriving over the next 2 days hopefully. So starts another project. Striping the doors to get ready for paint.

Major delay in this project thanks to UPS, two months delay. It takes them approximately 2 months to process a damage claim, must be nice to tie up other peoples time and money with no regard to customer service. Since the doors are aluminum they can't be easily repaired, especially when they are bent on a seam and creased.

UGH!!! Bummer!

Dude, that sucks! Glad you were smart and snapped a pic of them coming off the truck that way. My past dealings with UPS with crushed boxes and damaged goods was Deny… Deny… Deny

Saw the boxes and first thing got my phone and took pictures plus the fact that the UPS was the one that boxed them for shipment so their standard excuse won't fly - you didn't pack them well enough to protect them during shipment.

Well, typical UPS. The door wasn't damaged in shipment, it was shipped that way to begin with was the claim in their denial of the case. The UPS store that shipped it called them back and said the door was brand new when they packed and shipped it, we'll see how this goes from here.
