Available Wrangler 392 (Sold 7/14)

Again, my apologies if I have offended anyone or if you've had a bad experience with a prior dealership/salesperson. I don't believe it's fair to make an assumption on my character based on a forum post, but I don't take offense to it.

By the way, that Xtreme Recon 392 package is going to be awesome! I can't wait to see/experience one myself!
I am not offended. You seem to be trolling this sight just to make a sale at a considerable ADM. I, like just about everyone else here, am here for the knowledge and experience of other 392 owners and potential owners. Almost every car salesman (and I have known quite a few in my 66 years) goes from one dealer to the next; changing manufactures along the way. So one year they are a Chevy guy, the next year a Ford guy, and so on. It is hard to take you seriously when you are just here for the bucks.

I appreciate your insight and experience. I’m here to offer an avenue to information from the source, as well as the available 392 models that I have, should someone be interested in purchasing one. If there’s any question to what I have tried to provide this site with, feel free to click my profile, and view the messages I’ve posted.

No worries....

So guys can we back up for a second.

Are the dealers on this site saying 2021 units can still be ordered and filled? or just units that are in production right now allocated to dealerships

I have been told by my dealer that he is ready to start filling his allocation paperwork for 2022 units which I was going to be at the top of the new order list.

I have a 2021 392 and want to order another 2022.

Also one of the prior responses from another thread said the xtreme recon can only be ordered for 2021??

How can that be true. Can someone address my questions, many thanks

Sorry the only one I have available is the black that's in D status if you wanted to try and order one I would try to do that
my number is 845-629-0610 I'm located in South Carolina even though my number is a NY exchange
Dan are you also marking the 392s up? thanks

I spoke to Dan early on. He did not have what I needed at the time. I purchased through another dealer. The deal he had and probably still is MSRP but they do add window tint and a few other small things. No where near the cost of many others.

I found him to be straight up and honest with me on several conversations. If I did not find what I did when I did I would be doing business with him for what it is worth. By the time he had available allocations I already had a VIN.

Sure thing!

- The only Jeeps that are 2022 Models that can be ordered right now are Wagoneer/Grand Wagoneer. The Jeep Wrangler 2022 schedule and production date have yet to be officially released.

- As for the Xtreme Recon, when we go in to build vehicles, there are sometimes(not always), required options to build. There’s no way around it.

-Those will allocation are still able to build 2021 Wrangler 392s

Your condescending attitude is why a lot of folks hate car dealers/salesmen. Your get-it-while-you-can attitude is OK for the hit and run but not for a loyal customer. My local Jeep dealer and I have done many deals over the years and I have a 392 on order for MSRP. No hassle and no BS. With Jeep just announcing the new package with taller tires and gears for the 392, it is apparent they plan to build them for a while.

I encourage those who can wait to wait. By all accounts, it looks like you are going to be able to order a 392 for a while. Do not give dealers like this guy any extra money they clearly don't deserve. Chevy has just announced that they are going to penalize dealers who do ADM on their vehicles; regardless of what vehicle it is (including the Corvette). If a dealer is found to be adding ADM, they would get fewer vehicles.

There are good, honest dealers out there. Take the time to look around and you will be rewarded.

On any other forum, such as the one for the Ford Raptor, dealers like yourself are blown up by the members and banned by the moderators. I don't see why you should be able to use this forum for free to sell at an inflated price. Participation by dealers here should be limited to those that offer forum members a reasonable price.
I'm really glad we have dealers on this forum. Through this forum I found Brandon (@SmoothDriving479) and ordered a jeep and the whole process was really smooth and easy. I happily paid 5k markup because I'm being held hostage in SoCal where everyone is asking 20k or even 25k or 30k. Forums like these give us power when we come together and exchange info. I know there are 392s being sold at MSRP but I couldn't find any and I'm happy with my decision. And I'm getting the exact car I wanted in the end. AND hopefully I'll have it next week!

My wife is getting a Cadillac and through the Cadillac forum I was able to find a really nice dealer in Indianapolis with no markup. I'll happily pay shipping over markup. These forums are such a great resource for us in SoCal to escape the crazy markups.

Also you are incorrect about Brandon he's a really nice and honest dealer and not the least bit condescending. I would recommend him to anyone here.

I too am glad that dealers are here. But, some are just taking advantage by marking up vehicles like this. All indications are they will build as many $75k Jeeps as they can sell. You are a dealer's dream customer who is "happy" to pay $5k over MSRP. This is what makes the world go round: those who pay over retail and those who don't.

I am with @switz. While forums such as this one are excellent for the collective sharing of knowledge, a dealer charging “only” $5K over MSRP does not add value. Essentially , this dealer is taking advantage of the current circumstances. Jeep will sell as many 362 as they can sell and already committed to the 2022 model year. There are dealers selling at MSRP. Those are the dealers we want on this forum.

Thanks for the support GA392! I just spoke with my dealer here in Northern California. He, like the other dealers, are really in the dark as to how many 2021 392's they are going to build. He did say if anyone is interested in getting a JEEP 392 AT MSRP to give him a call and he will see what he can do. I have purchased many, many vehicles from him and he is the type of salesman you want to deal with. No BS and no upsell. He did confirm that you must order the Xtreme package now. But, it is like getting it for free if you don't have to pay $5k over. His name is Tom Holst at Auburn Jeep in Auburn California. His number is 888-268-8026. He said he can place an order and see if it gets a VIN and VON. When I ordered in May, I got my VON and VIN within a couple of days. Tell him Steve sent you (and I am not getting anything out of this).

Dealers are franchises and can set their prices as they see fit. See Robinson Patman Act This is a federal law dealing with price fixing. I believe Gm can be challenged for reducing allocations to dealers charging ADM.

As a side note my dealer of 15 years from whom I purchased 3 Wranglers and all serviced there, wanted 20k over msrp. It only took a dozen calls to find a dealer 90 minutes away where I got my 392 at MSRP.
I’ll NEVER purchase even a hat from the guys trying to get another 20 k but the service dept is great.
My 392 is my daily driver and I freaking love it.

Thank you for the review! There’s an awesome Jeep headed your way and I’m sure the Cadillac you found is pretty sick too! Best regards, and let me know once it arrives!

Guys……come on. I for one am all for paying fair value and love a good deal…..but let us be honest with ourselves….we are buying 75 to 80 thousand dollar Jeeps during a pandemic. Most of us here obviously have made good money doing whatever it is we do….and I would bet it is not because of a company that is selling services….or whatever it is for cheap. I mean hell the other day I was looking at plywood and it’s $150 for a sheet. I have been and I could care less about spending hours on hours in one…..but it seems on every vehicle forum somebody is whining about a dealership….and trust me it is not about Honda Accords. It’s about special vehicles like this.

I mean why are you all bashing the guy that spent his own hard earned money to buy what he wanted? I am probably a “dealers dream” too because I like to buy stuff…..within reason. I work in sales so I make money from other people at my job and dealerships make money on others at their job. If somebody treats me right and is not price gouging I have no problem with them getting paid. It sounds like the issue you two have is with capitalism not dealerships.

I will probably end up spending over $5,000 on golf this year….of course I will pay that to get a Jeep I want with a V8

By the way congrats @chillbot

Capitalism is a beautiful thing, 'aint it? If Brandon CAN sell for $5K over, more power to him. He and his dealership can make a few extra bucks. When the market demands it, he won't get $5k over. In the meantime, dealerships selling for MSRP are earning more and more business - which will eventually force the market to drop the premiums if they want to sell product. As long as supply matches demand. This first "run on" will fade, just as they always do. FCA (er, Stellantis) is giving NO indication this model won't continue for as long as they can sell them...

100% on the adjustments that come down the road. Albeit it can go either way right now….either the vehicles come down or the newer models get their baseline price raised. The biggest factor is going to be used prices….because if they do not adjust I think the new baseline will rise. After a while no one will be buying used cars if it doesn’t because they will be the same price as new…..

I’m curious what Stellantis ending their SRT team means. That is the interesting part….because they created the engines that go into these. It seems like the 392 was only to rival the Bronco and Ford is not doing a V8 in the Bronco due to emissions. Apparently…the 392 Wrangler isn’t even in the Brochures or 21MY information….only on the website. The 4xe is though

Will these run as long as we think is the real question?

By no means was I bashing Chillbot. We are all here to talk about the 392 and how it is to own one (mine hasn't arrived yet) or how excited we are to get ours (mine is supposed to be here mid August). I felt at the time, and still feel, the dealer is just disingenuous. I apologize to Chillbot as my intention was not to cap on him but the dealer who is pretending to be a nice guy doing folks a favor by selling them a mass-produced car for $5k over MSRP. Hopefully, more dealers come forward who really have our interests at heart.

There are good, honest dealers out there. I have owned four Jeeps and am currently driving a 2018 JL Rubicon that I special ordered. I did order the New Bronco and Ford placed my initial reservation at my local dealership. I contacted the dealership and they were excited to tell me I would be getting the vehicle at full MSRP. I told him there were dealers offering much better than that and he stuck to his guns. So I moved my reservation to a different dealer around 100 miles away for invoice. I mean they are going to make 100's of thousands of Broncos...But, when Jeep came out with the 392, that was it for me and I bailed on my Bronco. I love the way my current JL drives and am really excited about the 392. My plan was to get the Bronco and get another muscle car to appease the child in me. Now, Jeep has just saved me $100 grand because the 392 will fill all needs. So, thanks to Ford because I too believe (as stated here) that the 392 would never have seen the light of day if the Bronco hadn't been announced.

I'd like to think of myself as a pretty nice and honest guy. I don't set prices, but I am always upfront, easily reachable, and transparent! I'm even happy to help if someone isn't buying from me(when I can, at least)!
