What in the actual *uck !?!?

In my 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee it had the forward collision warning feature and I turned off the braking feature after something similar happened one day. Scared the crap out of me. Ever since then I only use the warning without actual braking.
For the life of me I don't know how this was turned on yesterday, I made some changes to the Tazer but did not touch the Jeeps Uconnect. Any how good to know and will be turning that off tonight.

Plenty of guys on here with LJ's also, I cant remember if I have posted this for you to see.

As much as I love the 392 the LJR will be with me when I die. That is mostly because of the LACK of tech.

Shifting gears a little here:) This also has me a little concerned, I know a lot of you did not buy your 392's for rock crawling but thats pretty much all mine is going to see. Headed to Moab/Colorado end of this summer and I remember Mel at EVO showing this in a video in 2021 but have not dived into this for more detail.

ELECTRONIC ROLL MITIGATION (ERM)

ERM anticipates the potential for wheel lift by monitoring the driver’s steering wheel input and the speed of the vehicle. When ERM determines that the rate of change of the steering wheel angle and vehicle’s speed are sufficient to potentially cause wheel lift, it then applies the appropriate brake and may also reduce engine power to lessen the chance that wheel lift will occur. ERM can only reduce the chance of wheel lift occurring during severe or evasive driving maneuvers; it cannot prevent wheel lift due to other factors, such as road conditions, leaving the roadway, or striking objects or other vehicles.

Isn't ERM feature deleted if in 4-low?
What about when in OffRoad+?

My LJ did go through several transformations from stock new to... well too much at one point. Pics are from last few changes.
Hemi 6.1, ProRock 60's, Genright 14" coilover suspension, Genright full cage, Atlas 4spd, 44" Pitbull Rockers (too much tire), 42" Treps sticky.

New Genright carbon fiber hood, new design front fenders, lowered rear fenders.
Yes I removed front bumper, did have Warn 16.5ti and replaced with low profile steel bumper and smaller winch. RSE steps and have a hard top.

I had an unsettling experience a few days ago, while using Adaptive Cruise Control.
I was in the inside lane, slowly passing a semi tractor/trailer, as I got about even with semi, I came upon another vehicle on my left making a u-turn, in left turn lane. So with a vehicle on each side of me, the Adaptive Cruise was not having it and abruptly applied brakes.
I've also had a couple of situations were a vehicle in front of me was right turning off the road. As I approached, the oncoming lane was clear so I attempt to go around the slow vehicle that was mostly off the road. The Anti Collision system was not happy with my decision and brakes were automatically aggressively applied.
Pro's and con's I guess.

The FCW system is really annoying, if not downright dangerous. I would prefer to not have it at all but it switches back on every time the Jeep is restarted - and at random settings every time. Is this something I can keep switched off with a Tazer?

Beautiful LJ !, very similar to my Dads he was running 42"s as well but has went down to 38's. If I was going to trailer my 392 I would go with Treps, I love those tires! Do you still have the LJ or sold it? What are your plans for your 392?

So when I got home last night sure enough the box was checked for sound and active braking (hilarious they call it that). I bought my 392 with 2000 miles and drove it home from Oregon to California, never once had anything but the warning when approaching a car from the front which was fine. Are you saying you have turned yours off and next time you start it that box is checked and braking is applied again? I am going to check this next time I start my rig, at this point I want that completely removed. Its nothing but a hazard to me and I have emailed Z automotive to see if thats something they can add to the Tazer mini.

Yup. It resets with every restart and at different settings as well. Sometimes it's on sound only, sometimes with braking. You never know what you're going to get. Keeps me on my toes :ROFLMAO:
Given how annoying (and frankly hazardous) this is, I would've thought it would be top on the list of things to disable with something like a Tazer. Surprised it isn't...

Mine doesn’t go back with restart. It’s been off for 3 years on my 21. I almost broke my wrist in a parking lot when some jackass cut me off and it braked on me. I immediately turned it off but left the sound on. It’s been off ever since. I also have a Tazer which has been on it since day one. Not issues at all

Still have LJ. Current plan for 392 is light wheeling & run around vehicle.
If I started a build on 392, I know what it takes. Axles, t/c, full cage. Then you still have a very heavy vehicle. If I had it to do over again, I’d build a lighter buggy for rock crawling.
Every time I roll the LJ, it costs $20k to repair back.

Reached out to Z Automotive about this and they added it to their list of updates but could not say when it might get added. I am going to check this on Uconnect for the next couple of months after start up to see if it changes somehow. I don't drive my 392 much but sure as *hit don't want that happening again...

I really want that!

This is a safety feature called Forward Collision Warning (page 243 of the manual) that you can adjust in the Uconnect settings. You can set sensitivity from Far (best reaction time), Medium (some reaction time), and Near (least reaction time). You can also change a combination of the settings to only warning, or warning and braking, or off entirely. I'm glad to hear you're safe and everyone else is too!
Is this set on the steering wheel it self for just cruise control? I see nothing under settings for breaking thanks in advance a.

I've had my alarm come on after someone was turning right and I had room to pass by, but it didn't apply the brakes, just screamed bloody murder. I did however, experience the ERM kick-in when I got kinda airborne on a huge hump in the HOV lane. The traction control light came on and it momentarily applied the brakes pretty hard. Freaked me and my wife out. I've since been running that part of the road with sport mode on, thinking it may have turned it off. Hasn't happened again. I do have a mini-tazer.
