Yea I really like it it’s still deep but raspy. It sounds nothing like any video clip (maybe on a good tv surround sound system?) that I’ve heard in person. Before you go through the trouble of selling your borla I’d try to meet up with someone who has it installed. But to me it sounds great. I have not heard the Borla in person either.
It reminds me of the M Performance aka Akropovic titanium exhaust on the 2016 M5 I had and never should have sold lol. The cold starts![]()
No more noticeable drone. I swapped back and forth from quiet to performance on our road trip Saturday cruising around 60 depending on if my wife or kids were talking or not LOL. I’ve not had it over about 65 mph1. Do you notice any increase in drone sound at hwy speeds?
How much louder you you rate AWE Switchpath exhaust on a 1 - 10 scale:
- If factory exhaust Quiet mode = 3
- Factory Performance mode = 6
2. AWE in Quite mode = ?
3. AWE in Performance mode = ?
I’m not a worry about warranty to that level kind of guy. I put a Cobb 600 +\- whp actual tune on my Raptor at less than 1000 miles knowing it the engine blew I was screwed lol. It was fine at 33k when I sold it to a friend and still is. I did all my own maintenance as I will likely do with my 392. If it were to happen I will deal with it best I can I just wanna do what I think is best long term after warranty is gone. The manual does "recommend" Penzoil, but I believe that Penzoil the only one that currently meets the specifications called for in the manual.
If they test the oil and it does not meet the spec, they will absolutely deny your warranty.
Another forum member has had an engine failure, and they tested the oil before warranting the engine.
I'm with you. I dropped a supercharger on my JK right after the engine break-in, and tuned a brand new WRX within an inch of it's life, but I'm trying to leave my 392 alone, and even more so when the 20a arrives. And if I'm not going to hack the crap out of it, I might like to keep the warranty intact... just in case (cough... cough hemi-tick).I’m not a worry about warranty to that level kind of guy. If that happened yes I would fight it vigorously legally and they would have a very hard time proving Amsoil was to blame. To me it’s no different if the manual says Exxon premium recommended and I chose to use Costco. They could easily try to point to other things I have done or will be doing (nothing egregious) other than oil to deny the claim
I agree with you I want the comfort of putting the pedal to the floor and if something goes boom know (or hope) im covered, which is the reason I have not considered a tune for the 392 to much risk too little reward (now if there was a tune that added 100hp that may be a different story lol) but honestly in many years of playing with vehicles the brand has never come up as a concern only weight and intervals. I will not be utilizing my free oil changes as who knows what they actually put in it at the dealer. I am intrigued and will keep doing research on MS-13I'm with you. I'm not a Pennzoil fan, so I was kind of hoping they made one that meets the specification. If they made one I'd switch, thus my query.
Although I'm not a lawyer, it's my opinion that if they had reason to test the oil, and found that it did not have the additive package specified by MS-12633, they would not have a hard time winning the argument in court. For guys like you and I that might be willing to risk it, maybe that means nothing, but some other folks on here might care more about the warranty on that Hemi "just in case".
As always.... you do you, friend.
So If you are wondering about the sound when me and my 5 year old son were leaving his Taekwondo practice today and I fired it up (perf mode) there were two little girls around his age waiting to be picked up and they both screamed! A few moms gave me dirty looks and a few dads gave me thumbs up1. Do you notice any increase in drone sound at hwy speeds?

They couldn't check the brand of oil but they could ask you to provide a receipt for Pennzoil. I'm not saying its better or worse I'm just saying they will look for any excuse to blame you for anything they can.I’m not sure how they would be able to check the brand of oil if it was catastrophic then most likely no oil would be left in it lol. They’d probably blame my 37’s Banks Tazr or lights before they would send the oil off for analysis.
Unless it says somewhere in the owners manual that unless you use Pennzoil then your warranty is void don’t think it would hold up. They would then have to prove that the used product was a somehow inferior and caused the failure.
I just checked the owners manual and didn’t see Penzoil mentioned? Maybe I missed it but also if it says recommended then that means nothing.
Yeah that receipt was lost in the same boating accident with all my gunsThey couldn't check the brand of oil but they could ask you to provide a receipt for Pennzoil. I'm not saying it’s better or worse I'm just saying they will look for any excuse to blame you for anything they can.
Looking forward to their answer.Yeah that receipt was lost in the same boating accident with all my gunsIf it got to that stage they could blame 37’s, tazer, pedal monster, exhaust, doing my own oil change or whatever they wanted that I have done. Heck they could even pull all ECU data and say I didnt follow break in exactly. They would all have the same or more “perceived ’ impact as oil brand. I am going to email Amsoil to see what they say about it because they list MS-12633 on the bottle.
If they want to deny a warranty claim they can find a way to try. Magnuson Moss helps a lot with this but would stil be a fight
This looks awesome! The OEM look/finish is the only way to do it too. Finally had time to install oem TRX hood lights. Pretty simple install, just trim the TRX hood scoop to clear the hydro guide then use black panel bond epoxy to bond the trimmed TRX to the back of the Jeeps hood scoop. Route the light harness along the windshield washer hose, fix a conector and tap into the drivers side front marker light. View attachment 19542View attachment 19541
Did you cut the tabs off or drill thru the body, I really hate drilling holes because of issues later with rust and painting the holes helps but found it truly doesn’t bond well .Installed the 392 badge that arrived today from All Mopar Parts but noticed the bottom edge of the 2 was a little cracked. I emailed them a picture I hope they make it right.
Also ordered 37” Nitto Trail Grapplers from my local shop should install on the Innov8’s next Saturday. I was back and forth between them and KM3 but decided to give the Nittos a shot. They quoted me $375 for TPMS so I ordered these https://www.extremeterrain.com/jeep-wrangler-jl-tpms-sensor-metal-valve.html all the reviews I read said they work
Edit just ran across this I know is a Bronco but have never seen this comparison before.
I just snipped off the tabs then used a razor blade to smooth them …no drillingDid you cut the tabs off or drill thru the body, I really hate drilling holes because of issues later with rust and painting the holes helps but found it truly doesn’t bond well .

I thought about that hood badge but measured the one on the hood and it looked too big for the space on the rear panel so I went with the 392/Hemi one - 68216931AA - from the black emblem Scat Pack. It's a little narrower and an added plus is the Scat Pack one is an identical match to the Granite of the Jeep.Installed the 392 badge that arrived today from All Mopar Parts but noticed the bottom edge of the 2 was a little cracked. That looks great!. I received the replacement 392 hood badge from All mopar a few days ago but decided to live the first one on. I gorilla glued the corner and you can't tell unless you know. I considered putting in on the right side of the dash by the vent but mocked it up and its way too big for that spot IMHO. I may do the leather dash panels if I ever find them in stock but looking for a smaller 392 badge to put there. The one you used may just work and would be subtle on the black dash panelI thought about that hood badge but measured the one on the hood and it looked too big for the space on the rear panel so I went with the 392/Hemi one - 68216931AA - from the black emblem Scat Pack.
