🛠️ What did you do to your Jeep 392 today?

Installed DCS Lighting rock lights and grill lights. Love the no drill application, fitting directly into factory openings on the frame.

Can you wires these to come on every time you remote start the jeep while still be wired to an AUX in order to be Able to shut them off?

If you have/are using an OEM aux switch then just configure the switch to remember last state (e.g. if you had it on when you last turned the vehicle off it will come on next time you start the jeep).

I’m sure you can. But if you tap into the parking lights with a diode to protect back current to the aux switch, the grill lights will come in every time your lights are on.

38” Nitto RG tires came in today. Packed the tires on a buddies trailer and filled my 392 and wife’s car with my 3.5” Clayton lift, Falcon 3.3 adjustable shocks and 2.2 adjustable stabilizer, yeti tie rod and drag link, Adams front and rear driveshafts, and Teraflex HD tire carrier, and drove to my local 4x4 shop to install everything. Last time I’ll see the 392 stock. Can’t wait to see the finished product when I pick it up Wednesday!

Big shout out to Hardline Fabrication in Pottstown, PA for doing an awesome job the last few days working long hours to put this thing together for me. Waiting on a part to come in to mount the falcon steering stabilizer, which will happen next week. Even without the stabilizer the steering feels nice and tight. Picked it up at night so pics aren’t the best and the weather is expected to be bad the next few days. I’ll post better pics when weather clears up after I get the stabilizer installed next week.

Jeep looks great. Tires proportion nicely to Jeep. Do you think you need the full 3.5" lift to run RG 38" (what do they actually measure in height, mounted?)?
2.5" lift not enough?

What is your axle gear ratio?
Perceived power difference after going to 38" tires?

I’m an avid off-roader so wanted the extra clearance with the 3.5”. I haven’t had a chance to flex it out yet so not sure whether would work with a 2.5” lift, but with the massive 392 bump stops and extensions the Clayton lifts come with you may be okay on 2.5”.

I have an XR so 4.56 gears, I only had a 5 mile or so ride home from the shop so far but definitely a noticeable reduction in power with the 38s, you definitely feel that HEMI working a little harder. I don’t mind that at all though I bought this for the off-road, not on-road performance and fully expected that. If you like the stock power of a 392 XR and don’t go off-road I wouldn’t recommend 38s.

How tall is your rig?

My parking garage is only 6’6 so worried I wouldn’t be able to fit.

Thanks! It measures a touch over 77 inches tall, so you’d be cutting it close.

Looking good my man! Do you happen to know if that terraflex spare tire carrier (just the carrier and 3rd brake light relo bracket) works with the Mopar tailgate hinge, or do you need the terraflex hinge as well?

The Mopar tailgate reinforcement does not reinforce the hinges. Mine was sagging with my 37x20. Changed to the whole Teraflex reinforcement kit.

That’s why I got the whole Teraflex kit with the 38s. Didn’t want anything sagging. It’s solid as a rock now. Interestingly I learned the stock rear bumper will only accommodate up to a 38” tire with the Teraflex kit.

I went with the full Teraflex kit was well. I wasn’t sure what future plans hold but I learned from past Jeeps if you are going to up grade, spend the extra money and go all the way the first time. I didn’t like how the factory reinforcement did not support all 8 bolts of the tire mount and only bolted into the 4 gate hinge bolts with spacers between the two. For the average person who won’t put on bigger tires or hit rough trails I’m sure it’s more than adequate but it had to many potential failure points for me.

I finally started removing the gold from the Jeep. It started growing on me but I think it will eventually all come off. BTW, the Incredible Hulk is not dead, he is installing and torquing rear tow hooks at the Jeep factory.
