🛠️ What did you do to your Jeep 392 today?

After leaving the dealer for an oil change the other day, a "Hood open" dash light came on. I checked and confirmed that the hood was closed. After some research, I learned that a hood sensor exists and that they easily get dust inside and trip/ fail.

I removed the rubber grommet and sprayed it extensively with a soapy water and compressed the plunger for a good minute to clear any debris. Let the Jeep sit for an hour, and turned it back on, same light came on. Has anyone had to exchange their faulty hood sensor? I am outside of the 3 year/36k warranty and don't think this will be covered, unless someone knows otherwise?
Thanks!
If sensor detects hood open your remote start will not work (safety feature?)

That is correct. I learned that when my jeep was new. The next time someone asked to see the engine and wanted to hear it (the hood was up) I pushed the plunger to fool the computer so it would start. That worked. Once I let off the plunger the alarm went off and I had to shut it back down to get the alarm to stop.

winter so far has been minor snow with freezing rain... so tracks the 392 AEV with 37's normally just cruises became a sneaky snare for the sleeping driver:

Last year with WildPeak W's we merrily cruised here in 18" of fresh. This year in 12-14" of crusty, I kept spinning - thinking are these tyres worn out??? Then we hiked our track.....

The heavy rains had frozen below the snow so we were driving on continuous ice, the crusty snow helped keep us straight but hardly any drive... very scary deceptive conditions.

Here kinda looks like 12" of snow:

But deep and dark a foot down was 3-4" of sheet ice visible here impossible to walk on.

Note to self-snowshoes hence forth.

This '24 has been excellent with 6 month winters, the boys just don't want to plant it before the '26 arrives.

ten days ago: So same track 20" snow profile - you can see the new fill in previous week's track up and over -we backed out off the hill 1/2 mile, too deep to turn around.... the smart thing....

the boys just don't want to plant it before the '26 arrives. THEN last Thursday we thought, the snow profile has evaporated, let's try the hill.... we knew on the scramble up the hill I couldn't back down safely and would have to turn... but 27" snow profile, crusty and heavying up from warm weather was rather too deep. and
We planted it once trying to turn, planted it again getting straight, and shredded ahead 100 yards, did a spin turn with both lockers and desperately made it out.... lots of digging for 71 year old shoulders.

Note to self: you're so smart, you're stupid... but getting stuck does build humility, a plus.

Dug it out... twice.

and got forward drive further in:poop:, spun it and fish tailed our way out with less than perfect dignity....

the perfect symmetry of a desperate both locker spin turn.... driving further in to find a familiar turning spot was a "dead end strategy". and not to be repeated....

deep, too deep

so, so much for our resolution not to plant the '24 in '26. Our new resolution is to NOT TO DO IT AGAIN...

I replaced my underhood switch early on, no problems since. OEM part number is 68342252AB.

Parts have begun to arrive today! Adams 1350 rear driveshaft, steer smarts yeti drag link, and falcon nexus 2.2 steering stabilizer. Yeti tie rod arrives tomorrow, and Clayton 3.5” overland plus kit arrives Thursday. Front driveshaft, falcon 3.3 shocks, and 37” Nitto RG tires all still on back order.

I must say the Yeti drag link is super beefy compared to stock, and this Adams shaft feels very solid. Looking forward to getting these all mounted onto the 392.

Picking up my Jeep today after lifting it, putting on 38's, and a TF Nexus 2.2.

Which of the three settings did you find favorable for various driving with your TF 2.2 stabilizer?

Threw on my 37's, will probably get lifted around April

My 26 was first and I do like that gun. I found the 19 a bit too large for a concealed gun and a bit small for a range gun. I also have 43 as well as 43x but recently went to Sig P365 and dont think I have shot my Glocks in 9 months.
Same my 19 is a nightstand piece along with my USPC and I typically CC either my p2000SK or 43 depending on situation.
