I had the max torque limit set to 100% when I went to the Moab EJS recently, I did notice that it went smoothly up ledges, although the trails I did where only 5 and 6. Maybe I finally figured out skinny pedal action with this beast or it was the NoLimitZ, not sure. The other NoLimitZ setting of "power in 4-low". If set to "yes", will allow full power in 4-low, not sure how that works either. The torque management on the stock Jeep will drop torque to effectively zero if the pre-set OEM torque limit is exceeded. It keeps torque output that low for about 1/2 second, then goes back to full output. If torque still exceeds the OEM limit it will drop torque output to zero again. This process can repeat itself 2 or 3 times until you complete the climb. I would think that this on-off-on-off-on torque management would be harder on the driveline than not having torque management at all. But what usually happens is that when the computer cuts engine power you immediately think "uh oh" and let off the gas, which limits torque output (and prevents climbing the obstacle). So, if the Nolimitz is set to maintain 100% torque output, does that stop the computer from limiting torque in this scenario? I would hope so. Isn't that the whole point of the Nolimitz?
I have not seen a clear consensus that turning off MDS is a good thing. So, I don't know if I would even use that feature.
I don't need to remove the speed limiter.
The security feature may be nice to have, but it may be more of a headache than it is worth if it keeps you from starting the vehicle as well as everyone else. If I am in the middle of nowhere four wheeling solo, and the Nolimitz is preventing me from starting my Jeep, that wouldn't be good. I wouldn't have internet access or even phone access to be able to trouble shoot. I live in a rural area, and my Jeep is garage kept. Two dogs guard the garage and would raise holy hell if there was nefarious activity in the garage, at which point I could intervene with my Glock. Key fobs are in the house in a Faraday box. I have not felt the need for additional security where I live. If I travel and the Jeep is going to be staying outside, I add a Club to the steering wheel. The Club prevents electronic means of auto theft with an independent physical barrier. Although nothing is going to work if thieves are determined to steal the Jeep.
So, it looks like I would be buying a Nolimitz for only one feature. If it works for that feature, it would be worth it though.
I only turn on the Full security stuff (7 different things), when staying at a hotel, I sleep a little better. Once I'm at home or on the trail, I turn off all the security features I enabled, it's very easy to use. You can pick the security features you want turned on or off.
