Torn Between '23 or '24 392

By winch bumper do you mean the crush cans? Those prevent your airbags from going off unnecessarily on low impact collisions. You can replace them with smaller ones if you like, but having a winch on the front means you’re more likely to deploy without the extra compensation. Anyone with an aftermarket bumper will have the same deal. Mopar sells the normal size crush cans.

Yep. The crush can “nipples”.

I’m willing to take the risk of replacing them with the original design. Definitely not a fan.

Don’t think it’ll be a safety issue. Worst case, the airbags go off on slightly smaller collisions. The only real danger this poses is that insurance might total your car when otherwise you may have only needed a new bumper mount. But that’s not an edge case worth optimizing for.

seats are the headrest color in person, the cameras turn them into lipstick/fire engine red!

Yes Anvil looks good to me, anything Black White Gray looks great, the other colors I don't think look too bad with the darker red but it's all in what you like and can tolerate!

Does anyone happen to know how Jeep handles colors?

Is it a given that Anvil will be available, throughout the model year? If not, do they announce when a color is being dropped so you can be sure to get your order in?

Even though Stellantis/Jeep hiked the price on the 2024 I do think I would purchase a 2024 Wrangler 392 over a 2023.

I think the red leather seats, additional curtain airbags, new wheel design, large touchscreen, standard XR package, etc. are worth the price of admission. I read that Jeep started working on the 2024 changes 3-years ago.

I’m certainly no insider, but it seems like that you really can’t plan on anything when it comes to product and/or parts availability.

Jeep could pull the Anvil color option tomorrow, and they could pull the 392 option altogether this Friday if whatever variables that drive these decisions come into play (parts availability, government regulations, consumer demand, etc., etc.).

In these times of tight emissions standards, I think the 392 is close to the end of its run, and my advice to you would be to strike while the iron is hot and get what you want now while you still can.

I had a choice (late May delivery) of the ‘23 I had on order or a ‘24…..and I hated so many aspects of the changes, I took the ‘23 and Thank the lucky stars every day that I did.

Can i ask what were the dealbreakers for you?

Love My 2023 20A 392 - Could not be happier✌️

so many pros and cons to each...

i LOVE the Anvil color option...the side air bags....the upsized screen

i DONT LOVE the new interior quality (gauge surrounds, crammed center vents, grab handle, whole affair looks cheaper and less integrated)

I actually wonder if the mid-cycle refresh is going to leave the '24 as the red headed 392 stepchild years down the road...

I dont love the idea of just getting a '23 and wrapping or repainting in Anvil...maybe a mental thing but i just like the idea of factory original when it comes to some things more than aftermarket mod...

thoughts??
Having been a jeep owner since 1997 (my first order while on deployment in the gulf...pre-internet, if you know what I mean...dealers were flown in from San Diego...so we wouldn't pay taxes 🤔😅), I know that Jeep does incremental charges. Nothing so radical as to see the difference(s) between current year and previous year. You have to know it to know it😅 So, no worries✨️✌️

The only other JL I’ve owned was my ‘21, 392, so I have limited experience in this regard, but I was swapping out the factory body-mounted “sliders“ for the LOD Destroyers that I had on my ‘21, and noticed that poking out along the pinch seams in various locations is what looks like expanding foam insulation. I do not remember seeing this on my ‘21.

I’m guessing this is part of the “additional sound deadening material“ that is reportedly used on the ‘24 models. Anyone recall seeing this on the ‘22s or ‘23 392’s (or any prior model yearJL for that matter)?

I really wanted a '24 because the dash looks grown-up, but ended up going with a '23 mainly due to the red interior...I couldn't get past it. I guess I could have swapped with someone, but I don't regret my decision one bit.

Just seeing this:

1. Price, which was $12k difference
2. Value - so much I didn’t need or want
3. Red seats - Easy target, but the only color I wanted was Hydro Blue….No Way would I want to embarrass myself every day
4. Grill
5. Odd looking screen - very awkward design and the 8.4” is integrated very well and bigger than I had before
6. Floating axle- with no added tow capacity I don’t need it
7. Moving away from the bronze accents
8. Wheels
9. Being forced into paying for the XR package - not something I wanted, the rig is plenty tall enough

"Red seats - Easy target, but the only color I wanted was Hydro Blue….No Way would I want to embarrass myself every day" :ROFLMAO:

Now my 2024 392 has arrived, I had the opportunity to live with the 'infamous red seats.'

They were more like warm-burgundy color in person. The seats looked pretty sporty, the structure was very supportive, and the nappa leather seemed high-quality.

I can't believe I'd say this, "I actually like them!"
