Synthetic oil change every 5k or 6mo?

Love my 392 but she rarely sees 5k mileage within in six months... more times than not, I'll put 1-2k on her as she's not my daily driver. I just had a full synthetic oil change done at the Dealer and they stated that the oil should be changed on these 392s every six months no matter the mileage. I wanted to ask the group of fellow 392 owners if that's truly the case. Thank you!

I did my first at 5XX miles. The second one at 6 months at the dealership (1150 miles to keep the warranty.)

Per the instructions 6 months or 5K miles whichever comes first. Again. Changing the oil on this vehicle is the easiest I have ever done. I will never hit the mileage intervals since the 392 is not a full-time daily and my wife's commute is less than 5 miles.

I did my first oil change at 890 miles and sent a sample off for oil analysis. The lab suggested the second change to be between 3k-4k mi. I'll change it closer to 2500 mi. and send off that sample as well. During engine break-in I prefer to change oil at more frequent intervals to flush out wear particles as much as possible. After which, I still change oil before the recommended manufacturer's interval.

Lots of passion around this topic but I do want to point out one thing...

Jeep cannot void your warrantee simply because the dealership didn't change the oil. You can do it yourself, Any Time You Want , and blame Jeep if something blows up! The burden of proof is on Jeep, not you.

They cant require the dealership to do the work but pretty sure they can require the work to be done, by owner or otherwise.

Without getting too deep, under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act (1975), abuse, neglect, and certain modifications may allow the manufacturer to restrict warranty claims in specific situations… But the burden of proof still falls on the manufacturer.

I use https://www.blackstone-labs.com/. They will send you collection containers and packaging/shipping materials. You fill up the little jar they send you while changing your oil and mail it to them. You can also send in your own container, but they don't charge you any less, so I use theirs to make it easy.

I use SPEEDiagnostix. The sample size is 3 oz. and is collected while the oil is draining (I believe @ ~15 sec. mark, IRCC). They provide you the sample collection container and a pre-paid return shipping box is included. Ideally you should use their sterile container to prevent any additional contamination.

I can't tell you how many oil changes has been done off the top of my head. My 2022 has 79,000 miles on it and the interval of oil change is done using the oil life gauge at 5% to 1% since day one. I obviously don't come any where close to the six month standard.

That's $108/oil change, way too much IMO. You can use the MOPAR coupon online (https://www.mopar.com/en-us/services/oil-services.html) for a 2 oil change package, it used to be $100 but now it's $130. They bumped the included oil from 5qts to 6qts now but my dealer has never charged me for the extra 1.5 or 2.5qts either way. They also don't charge me extra for the SRT oil filter but YMMV depending on how greedy your local dealer is.

I change oil when it begins to look dirty or starts to darken, 6k miles or 1500 miles, when it's dirty I change it.

I took my Grand Cherokee 4xe for an oil change today. Popped the hood and saw that the last oil change, the tech left a trim tool under the hood. Hmmmm. Should probably do it myself, but I still have free oil changes. Check up after the dealer service.

One time I opened the hood to check, the tech left the oil fill cap in the engine bay...
