Here is the issue! One lifter looks like it was assembled wrong, the plunger alignment pin isn't in the hole. You. Can see this on the top lifter. They are installing all new lifters.

Bought jeep in September in Arizona, drove to moab had a blast and.back home to Washington. I noticed a prolonged cold start tick, lifter knock that would last 3.5 minutes, not the typical hemi tick and not exhaust tick or leak. BTW I'm a professional technician with 36 years experience and a shop owner. I tried 3 different oil filters, 2 different brands and even some different viscosity oils to see if I could make the noise atleast change and nothing changed the level of sound or duration it lasted. Engine runs great and is quite when warm. I even put a heat pad on the oil pan overnight and had a cold start oil temp of 125 degrees with no change at all. At this point I believed it might be a wrist pin or a lifter, I did NOT want to take it into the dealership. Finally I did bring it in and.now 3 weeks later we have nothing. They started a star case and all they know is it might be a lifter and start taking it apart to find the issue. I told the dealer I want a new engine!! Problem is they could change lifters and still have the noise after the repair. The tech said what I said, very hard to tell what the sound is. So now I have a 100k paper weight I'm making a payment on!! I have all the parts for a complete build, 3 inch lift, sdi shocks, exhaust and a bunch of other stuff just sitting in boxes.

Sorry to hear this...its definitely a warranty issue. Mopar is pushing back on warranty globally. Merely put your foot down and be a pain in the ass. always works. The engines are good, however, I have swapped both my engines to AMW 505 and AMW 707 having blown two stock 392 engines as they have weak points.

After reading of your problems here, I'm glad I broke my 392 in EASY to insure a long life of reliability. Demo ride with sales person at point of delivery was the first time he saw a Jeep hit 100 MPH. Several times after that on the way home saw a 100 MPH. Then a trip to the local drag strip assures me I have a good one. If it's gonna break let it do it QUICKLY! No oil leaks............ No transmission leaks................. Everything tight and dry! I have seen brand new vehicles treated gently, then driven hard and they explode.

Yeah, I think that’s what I said but was kinda ridiculed for it from some haters…congrats I’m glad you called jeeps cares. Like I said previously, they gave me the 8 yr 85k and some $$$.

My '24 with only 2,400 miles hasn't been driven for 38 days (as of today), since it is waiting for a new oil filter housing. I am curious how hard you had to push Jeep to get the Max Care plan?

Call jeep cares, tell your story. They should offer it. If not, ask. When my transfer case grenaded, they offered me max car 8 year 125k (then called back and rescinded offer because an LLC was registered owner not me)

Again, you need to insist, as I said before, they gave me an 8 yr 85k zero deductible for free…

Jeep Cares is scheduled to call me back on Monday (1-20-25) with an update so I will ask about Max Care at that time. It will be 41 days without being able to drive it.

Yes this was the case for my other mopar vehicle. In my case they did follow up and compensate well enough. There’s a lot of factors in this, tech experience, GM of dealership (in my case was awesome) , etc but Jeep Cares did pull thru from me twice to be completely fair.
