I also have the OnX Elite and also underwhelmed...I enjoy the property boundaries / land ownership for the novelty, but I have several free hunting apps that provide the same data. In Oklahoma area with Disney, SMORR, KS Rocks and Hot Springs almost zero trails are available...I assume because many of the parks are private ownership? Then in Moab I found "Trails Offroad" more to my liking...maybe I just have not gotten the hang of using OnX.

Trails Offroad can use Google maps to navigate to the start of the trail and has many waypoints per trail describing the obstacles and options...fantastic. You can export the trails and waypoints to Gaia but it never seemed as smooth to me... Not sure I will renew OnX or the Gaia premium...maybe I need to watch some more how to vids?

EDIT: I use an 11" iPad pro mounted on a Tacform mount, mounted to the floor (front passenger seat bolt) for all the navigation...the stock screen is just too small for me and the resolution leaves a lot to be desired. But I am old so that that into account! My wife is always with me and is the navigator...no comments on her age or eyesight!

OnX has more trails, can also do "guided" navigation (point by point), as well as navigate to coordinates.

Trails Offroad is much nicer for trails it has, but lacks basic functionality when accessed via the Uconnect app. Can't even zoom in.

I got both subscriptions, and it seems that both apps need to evolve to eliminate the need for the other.

Hey folks, I was under the impression that the 24 jeeps were supposed to come stock with Jeep trails app built in, mine did not, anyone know when it’s meant to be availabl? I would assume it will be an over the air update?

I bought the 39.99 upgrade on my Jeep Dashboard 01/15 and after a few chats with Jeep Care, I did a factory reset on my 24 and parked at in a good reception area and it did update my system. Still don't know how to use it, but at least I have it.

check with Jeep Cares, they helped me get it (wasn't on originally).

It does. It's based on TrailsOffroad I think. Has all the same trails in NB that I usually see when I use TO.

Trails offroad is linked. I think you can download trails off line from the app to your jeep. Looking forward to comparing to Gaia and onX.
