Jeep on train for over a month and a half!

That certainly seems odd. My 392 took one week from Ohio to NC. I can’t understand why your dealer cannot determine what is occurring.
One week from ship date they gave you? There telling me my ship date is 1-2-22 can I expect it a week from them. Mine is shipping to Bowling Green Ky.

Wonder if they know the railcar number.
Everyone could look out their back doors.

Sales manager swears he has no access to rail car number or last station passed. Only has rail ramp ETA at local port which continuously gets pushed back. Just have to wait and see. I assume it’s sitting in a rail yard🤷‍♂️…date range got pushed back another 2 weeks today.

My Jeep has been on a train for over a month now. Is this normal? Getting concerned because no one at dealership or customer service can tell me where it is and I get a different answer every time I speak with someone.
Just out of curiosity, when did you order your Jeep?

Six Months? Really?

What is your dealer saying about this?
He said he wishes it was here, but that it’s “normal” for vehicles to get pushed back on delivery time. That he has no control until it gets to the dealership. He also told me he has an order from March 2020 that still has not arrived and that the person who ordered it is still going to buy it, which sounds like complete bs.

So, I can’t tell if he’s incompetent, dishonest or truthful.
WOW! Might there be anything to do with whether or not dealers had allocations or not? I am clueless. Dealers in Southern AZ had no allocations when I wanted to buy so I orderd mine through a dealer in Michigan and it took three months to arrive there.

Give Jeep Wave a Shout about your experience and ask for hel

Sales and sales manager have told me multiple times it is an allocated order.

Jeep Wave contact is the same as Jeep Chat and uscustomerservice@fcagroup….they’ve also been unable to help.

Jeep chat did tell me the dealership should have resources to contact for transit information but sales manager denies he has access to anything other than a nebulous estimated rail ramp arrival date. I keep getting inaccurate and contradicting info.. Looks like I just gotta wait it out.

Sorry to hear you are having to go through this.

Much appreciated. 👍

The wait doesn’t bother me so much but I have little patience for poor service, misinformation and lack thereof. That’s what’s so frustrating to me.

My 392 has been on a train for weeks and I’m getting so discouraged for several reasons. Last week my dealer said the train should arrive in Tampa this week (I’m in south Florida). Then it will go on a truck to my south Florida dealer. So I called my dealer this week to get a status, and lo and behold the train is still in Michigan!! WTH? Then he says it might arrive early next week. I don’t believe it. At all. The train won’t move that fast.

My 392 has been on a train in extremely cold weather for about a month now. And that can’t be good for the battery, right? It’s been sitting for a month without being cranked up. I’m expecting it to arrive at the train hub in Tampa with a dead battery. Then it will be more delays. And more delays. What a joke. It’s really a shitshow at this point. I’m never going to get it.

I commiserate with ya. Definite &@$#show. Over 5 weeks on a train/in a rail yard here.

Sales told me my Jeep actually arrived 11/26. Then sales manager said no, 12/3, then 12/9, then 12/16, now scheduled for 12/19. General manager responded to me once then completely disappeared. Jeep Wave/chat says 12/19-12/29 currently. Estimated arrival date has changed over 10 times. Been continuously misinformed by uscustomercare@fcagroup. Can’t believe anything you’re told. Not sure it’s worth following through with at this point.

Recently I have been discouraged by this thread but also realistically discouraged when I look at VIN of Jeeps being delivered and on dealer lots. Last six of my VIN is 870509. VINs are assigned relatively in order. I see Jeeps being delivered to dealers or on the way to dealers with VINs in the 72xxxx range. Thats a long way to go.

Hmmmm.... Wonder why the train is in Michigan? Wranglers are built in Toledo. In a previous thread I mentioned that the first time I was informed that my Jeep was on a train it was headed for Toronto to have 'MOPAR' parts installed. A month later it was shipped from Toledo to Michigan for delivery to my dealer and I.

This talk of Jeeps on trains going to Toronto to have more parts installed is depressing! This morning my dealer told me my 392 was transferred to the rail yard. Ordinarily that would mean its on the way to me but now it seems thats not the case at all!
