You can disable in the settings on your head unit. Instead of using the shifter to go back, just hold the right (+) paddle for 1 second and it goes back to Auto. Allows you to toggle back and forth without ever using shifter.
In Auto, won’t shift 1st into 2nd (intermittent)

If I had the opportunity I'd like to ask FCA Eng. this question: If a proper break in is critical (of which I do believe it is) then why not program in various constraints to help protect against the occasional misunderstanding or oops during each period?
Heck, I have a set of Bluetooth home speakers that where volume limited until the break in period was complete.
It looks to me that most everyone on this forum is VERY "tuned in" to their vehicle/s & its needs, and very likely did the text book break in.
But I have a suspicion that many 392 vehicles (& others) don't receive the proper attention from birth and are never right because of it
.

Anything is possible with programming.
