Ok, so I unplugged the 4 microphones today and went for a drive. Drone isn't reduced, arguably worse than before. Damn.

Well, if the ANC is there to decrease drone, and you disable it, it makes sense that the drone would get worse.

ANC is tuned for stock exhaust. There's anecdotal evidence that aftermarket exhausts have caused the ANC system to pump out conflicting frequencies causing increased drone. Some folks have eliminated that after putting aftermarket exhaust on by disabling these ANC mics. This is why I tried.
