I just have to say….

I just got on that wranglertjforum as well. Im trying to track down a TJ unlimited/LJ myself. Id prefer one thats near stock so I can make changes myself. It not easy to get one without rust! Hopefully, I'll find a good one at a reasonable price soon. Wish me luck!
They are tough to find in great shape. I got lucky. If you want to do it right, get ready to pay a little more and get one from AZ/CA/FL that has never seen snow or salty streets. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help. There are some clever tactics to hide rust out there.

Thank you for the reply.
Yea....that is what I am finding out. Living in Indiana....buying one from AZ/CA/FL is proving to be quite the chore. I've bought new Cars from all over the country....but a used one that needs to be thoroughly vetted is a different beast. Unfortunately, I definitely don't have the time to fly out so I'd be entirely dependent on a random hired mobile mechanic's opinion. I really want one though....to teach the kids on. That wrangler generation was still simple enough for even me to figure out. I'm going to keep looking and hoping something will pan out.

I was relatively experienced with the platform as I already had a TJ so a remote purchase went well. When I found my LJR I drove from FL to Houston to pick it up and tow it home.
