I have been trying to update my Nolimitz to the newer beta firmware but I can't seem to get the application to recognize my nolimitz module. It lets me select COM3 then gives me an application error. I have googled it to death and tried every option found with no luck. My nolimitz has been installed on the Jeep for about a year now and I do have the latest ZPU version on my computer.

Where did you find a Beta version? You should be going to version 24.1.8. When in the update program are you using the NoLimitZ link or the Update link? The Update link will not work on the NolimitZ. Also the NolimitZ needs to be disconnected from your Jeep.

In the email I received it said beta version so I assumed that's what it was?

Either the instructions or the software mention tha nolimitz will not be recognized but you can run the update anyway. It worked for me. Just make sure you select the correct computer port.

I have tried the manual update but it says downloading and just keeps spinning at 0%. I got a text reply back from Z auto yesterday with the basic instructions that are posted everywhere. The unit has worked for disabling the MDS but I have no control over any features. I would really like to be able to use the unit as intended since I paid for it. I also have the Tazer so I unmarried it and removed it but still no luck on getting the Nolimitz to do anything.

For what it's worth, your unit is working as it was originally intended. ZAuto's newest firmware just allows you to cherry pick the options now. If you're a plug and play and forget kind of guy, the module in it's original state is the best imo. If you like to tinker and have control over everything, then getting that firmware updated will be nice for ya. Sorry you're having troubles with it though.
As others noted, just be sure you're installing the correct firmware from Zauto's site. You might've had a bad download of the file.

Correct on it's working as originally intended but I do like having more options. I have downloaded the latest of everything. If I connect the nolimitz it shows COM3 and I select it but then nothing happens. If I don't connect the nolimitz module and then click the nolimitz tab on the software I get an update screen but it only appears if the module is not plugged into the usb cable. I have tried 3 cables as well.

Z auto replied by text today with all the above information but after a few minutes chatting they asked me to video my steps and send it to them. I will do that tonight and hopefully find a solution.

Let us know!
Based on threads on this forum, the update process with the Zauto software is not intuitive/consistent to say the least.

I am having this same issue by the way. I was having some really crazy body module stuff happening until I unplugged no limits when they all went away. Wanted to update firmware to see if it fixed the strange issues I was originally happening.

This is what I get with the nolimitz connected to the computer.

This is what I get without the nolimitz connected.
