Has anyone offloaded their 392 regularly and not broken the transfer case ?

I'm at 26K miles, drove cross country from VA to CA and back, with off-roading stops in UT and CO, and I wheel regularly (just about every weekend) with and without gear in the back. No issues so far (knock on wood) I've had my 392 since new back in Nov 22.

I LOT of great data points above that shows the transfer case works well.

Add me to the list of busted transfer cases 😂

10,800 miles. I do wheel it often.

Just curious, any noticeable/obvious symptoms in how it drives or feels, or just the warning light? That same warning happens with various sensor or wiring failures and may not mean T-case has anything wrong with it.

No noticeable issues at the moment. I’m also got FCW unavailable and Sway Bar unavailable warnings at the same time.

That’s an odd combination. Sounds more like an electrical issue. Have you traced/checked wire bundles for any varmint chewing damage? Bad ground possibly or maybe battery starting to go bad and causing electrical system to act funny. I know it sounds silly, but have you checked all the fuses to make sure they’re all good and none have shifted and come loose?

I checked all The grounds I could find when I had a power steering hot/voltage warning lights come on.

I pushed all the fuses in when I first got the Jeep :)

Who knows what it is. Working on scheduling a dealer appointment 🤷🏻‍♂️

if just the message then Welcome to the Jeep electronic age. It could be anything. That message comes up a lot. Failed t-case is very obvious. Failed clutches in the t-case are not so obvious unless you are off road…

I wheeled it hard last weekend 😂

Sorry to hear that. Ours is sitting at the shop trying to find the cause of two 4WD service lights (6k miles).

Here’s all the trouble codes for what it’s worth. You’re probably right that it is electrical.

4H auto wants 0/100 front to back. 4H pt wants 50/50 front to back.
Sensors control where it is in between.
h, I would guess you damaged a speed sensor which is the p215c-00 code, that caused all those others.

Interesting....the code I got that caused the dealer to replace the transfer case was: C140E-00 "transfer case motor blocked"....

And that t-case is in 100s of thousands of Jeeps since 2011-2022. Some hemi’ s and some diesels, with plenty of torque.

The only real problem with the 392 mp3022 is that 4H part time is not locked 50/50. That was a bad design/programming choice by Jeep. The worn out clutches, like trailrecon, is not different than a teenager riding the clutch on a manual transmission for 30k miles. Just not designed to work like that. What you have to keep straight is 4H auto is trying to stay 100 percent RWD. Throttle and sensors will slip power to the front up to 50/50. Understand any power going up front will wear the clutches. 4H part time wants at be 50/50 and with more throttle it will slip towards RWD. This will also wear your clutches.

4L will lock 50/50 and will not wear clutches except minimally.

Do you recommend to use the taser and put in RWD to avoid any issues like that. Because If I got a 392 I want to hit it.

No I don’t. I have no idea how a tazer forces RWD. So only time will tell What it does. But drive how ever you want to… on road 4H auto off road 4H part time. You Should be fine.
