I'd like a spare tank a bit smaller and have the ability to fasten uhmw to protect it. But this looks like a good deal and that the weld quality is there when you need it.

The bottom line cost is $2,999 plus $430 for shipping to my doorstep.
I received the install instructions in English. They’ve been pretty responsive to any questions I posed.
It looks like a well thought out piece of kit. I’m not ready to pull the trigger yet though.

Does the $2999 include tariffs? Aluminum is typically over 100% duty from China.

According to the email I received, it’s $2999 plus $430 shipping to my home address.
Now is it possible I could get a bill from the shipping company for thousands$ to cover tariffs? I have no idea. And I have doubts bp4wd knows for sure either.

Here is my 392 in the middle there, after we completed the Rubicon Trail 2 weeks ago. I use a 2.5 Gallon Rotopax mounted with a Sea Sucker mount to my side window. I have carried extra fuel each of the last three years when I have run the Rubicon Trail but have never needed it. Something about being out on the trail for two full days without a fuel stop keeps making me think I will need it though. All 3 Jeeps fueled up at the same gas station at the start of the trail. Both my 392 and the silver Jeep with a 3.6 in it have used the exact same amount of gas for the last three years in a row, with 3/8 of a tank left at the South Lake Tahoe staging area where we air up the tires. The Red Jeep with a 2.0T engine used 1/8 tank less than we did. My 392 routinely gets the same gas mileage on technical trails as an equally equipped 3.6 Jeep.

The Sea Sucker mount was solid with no slipping or loosening in my 4-day long trip. The mounting location on the side window is not the best though. I got into a very large rock mid-way through the trail that scuffed the passenger rear fender flare and left deep scuff marks in the Rotopax container as well. Surprisingly though it did not break the window. I think that was more blind luck than anything else. Next year I will run the Sea Sucker mount on the driver side window, where I can keep a better eye on it, and where it keeps it away from "that rock".

Arguably my 392s have had better fuel economy than my old 3.6 and 3.8 JKs. It's weird though. My supercharged 3.6 with it's super heavy overland build got way worse mileage, but my 392 gives me range anxiety.
