Front Bump stops

Huge favor - can you measure how long the metal part is that the hydro bump is mounted in now that the perch has been cut? Looks like 3" which is what the normal JL's are as well.
i just did a quick check. 3.5 inches for mount. Hope this helps

Couldn't tell you. I had my local shop (Built 4 Fun 4x4) do the work. My Evo lift was the first one done on a 392 and it wasn't ready for prime-time. Steve, the shop owner, spent lots of time talking it over with them when he did the installation.

My current weight is 6,320 lbs.... So I'll be changing all of the spring rates to 250/300 when my Currie 70's come in. Plus a.few other fun things 🤘😄🤘
It seems your bump stop is nearly engaged in this photo that appears do be taken at full droop. This would imply you’re riding on your bump stops all the time, when they’re only meant to absorb the final two inches. With your jeep on flat ground, how many inches do you have Between the bump stop and strike pad?

Fox recommends 3.25 from the very top above the spring perch. So you probable have about 4.5” total length. I know you have king, but this could explain why it seems you have limited travel before the bump engages. Perhaps that’s needed for the wheels and tires you’re running.

that side was on a jack stand. Drink some coffee 😉

Looking for pneumatic/hydrailic bump stops that would replace the factory front 392XR ones. Would like to slow down the impact.

Any input would be appreciated.
ADS works great they come charged with 150 psi the shop installed them let all pressure out fully bottomed out the suspension to check for clearance on all parts then refilled them to 130 psi as 150 is very stiff in there opinion and I have to admit it’s a plush ride I’m running 35’s with MC lift and two rubber MC pucks. 3 are needed if running nitto 38’s they also fabricated up a recessed washer for the bolt head so it would not tear up the rubber on hydraulic bumps

Zona motor sports in AZ did the work

Thanks for sharing this. It looks like there's about 6 3/8" from the metal cup to the top of the tower from the factory. I did my best to get around the spring coil up there when measuring. If you have 3.5" then it seems they were able to cut just 3" from the OEM tower to install the bump stops. I'm guessing that this means that the King bump stops can be set up to 392 OEM lengths. Does that make sense?

Also - it looks like on the passenger side there's a wiring harness in the way above the shock tower. I have seen anyone talk about it. I'm hoping that's because it's so trivial to move :-)

it is, I had to move it to fit my Artec liners, its just held in at one spot and can be popped off easily, only warning is that they main harness goes on the inside of the shock tower and has a little keeper that threads into the shock mount bolt, I had to put a pice of 3/8s tubing on the bolt to hold it on/away from the valve cover

I have the Fox bump stops and had to have the rears rebuilt after 7k miles. I’ve heard better things about the Kings.

I wouldn’t run them with less than 3.5 of lift. With 2.5 they were bottoming out too often in normal street driving with all pucks removed and set at highest level (most travel). With 3.5-4 inches now they work much better.

If it were only one bump, I’d probably assume you got a bad part… but both tells me that you’re riding on your bumps way too much. I know nothing about your suspension but you’re definitely not setup for whatever you’re doing with your jeep.

The most common thing everyone forgets about is how heavy our jeeps can get when we build them up and then pack them with a bunch of gear.

My recommendation is to load your jeep up with everything you regularly carry and go weigh it at a truck stop or a landscape supply company. In Co, it only costs around $15.00.

From there, find some beefier springs that match your current weight or take it to a shop that can properly diagnose your needs…. In my experience, you need better springs or you need to get taller, and sometimes… it’s both.
