Few Thoughts on my 392 after 1K

Just came across this. I just joined too.
As for the gearing, I was on the fence with the XR package, for only that. I then reflected, I had a JKUR with 35's here in Colorado, and that 3.6L did perfectly fine on the highway and maintaining highway speeds, even here in Colorado. With having a 4" lift, bumpers, lights, and everything else that made a brick less aerodynamic. I was able to hold the 75MPH speed limit, with a little more than usual on the pedal, but it was capable nonetheless. Also, would average 13 mpg in Colorado and could squeak out 16 on cruise with no wind or traffic. With that, I decided, if I want to swap gears, it's about $1k for a good set and I can do it in a half day. That aside, I want different wheels than what the XR offered.

Somewhat relative here. I have a Jeep GC SRT. If I drive gently, I average 16 mpg. If I drive the way I like, I average around 13 mpg. If I am left with no reservations, I get closer to 11-12. Highway on economy mode with cruise control, on a road trip in the west with no traffic, I can actually get 21 mpg. That's rare though. And I only used economy mode on 1 road trip, just to see what it would get.

Just drove my 392 from northern NY to SF in 4 1/2 days. my wife, who is a luxury car owner, loved driving the Jeep. After 2-3 hours neither one of us wanted to hand over the wheel. Yeah, 700 miles a day is exhausting. But, the handling is challenging but always engaging. By the way, the SF area dealer wanted 15k over MSRP when my ordered 392 arrived. The dealer said I wouldn’t find it for less! Take it or leave it! I walked and well I bought in NY At a small discount under MSRP.
