Condition When Picked Up at the Dealer?

In November 2017 I ordered a 2018 TrackHawk which was delivered exactly two months later to the day with 76 miles on it with no indication that it was singled out for additional quality scrutiny. Funny thing is that the the Conner Plant where it was built in downtown Detroit is only 20 miles or so from the dealership in Clinton Township, MI where I bought the vehicle. I have not had any issues with the TrackHawk and the only thing I've taken it to the dealer for are the "Jeep Wave" services. According to the owner's manual the break-in period for the 6.2 Liter TrackHawk/HellCat motor is 1500 miles in milage increments that gradually build up on allowable RPM and speed maximums. Haven't seen an owners manual for a vehicle with a 392 in it for the break-in guidance so if someone has that I think we all would appreciate if you would share with us please.

"Engine break in occurs mainly during the first 500 miles (805 km) and continues through the first oil change interval.
It is recommended for the operator to observe the following driving behaviors during the new vehicle break-in period:
0 to 100 miles (0 to 161 km):
  •  Do not allow the engine to operate at idle for an extended period of time.
  •  Press the accelerator pedal slowly and not more than halfway to avoid rapid acceleration.
  •  Avoid aggressive braking.
  •  Drive with the engine speed below
    3,500 RPM.
  •  Maintain vehicle speed below 55 mph (88 km/h) and observe local speed limits.
100 to 300 miles (161 to 483 km):
 Press the accelerator pedal slowly and not more than halfway to avoid rapid accelera- tion in lower gears (FIRST to THIRD gears).
 Avoid aggressive braking.
 Drive with the engine speed below
5,000 RPM.
 Maintain vehicle speed below 70 mph (112 km/h) and observe local speed limits.
300 to 500 miles (483 to 805 km):
  •  Exercise the full engine RPM range, shifting manually (paddles or gear shift) at higher RPM when possible.
  •  Do not perform sustained operation with the accelerator pedal at wide open throttle.
  •  Maintain vehicle speed below 85 mph (136 km/h) and observe local speed limits.
For the first 1,500 miles (2,414 km):
 Avoid high engine and driveline loading.
NOTE:
Check engine oil with every refueling and add if necessary. Oil and fuel consumption may be higher through the first oil change interval. Running the engine with an oil level below the add mark can cause severe engine damage."

Thank you! Good stuff(y)

Alrighty then,
Sooo...after a drawn out process...
Originally the dealer said they’d give me $500 in Mopar goodies for the Jeep being delivered with dirt and rust.
“No thanks, we need to do better”
Then the dealer came back after they went to FCA and are giving me an 8 year 100,000 mile extended warranty. They did step up but I think I’d rather have a spotless vehicle upon delivery.

You’re the second person I’ve heard about that has been offered an extended/lifetime warranty(good deal!) because of dirt and mileage. What kind of “rust” are we talking about, though!?

Yes, I was quite pleased that they came back with that.

For some reason the photos will not upload. If you look at a previous post I listed regarding condition of delivery, you will see the photos I was able to post there. Pretty sad when you figure what we are paying to have your vehicle delivered in that condition

Just so you know, that 8yr/100k Mopar warranty retails for $4,000 because that's the one I opted for. I felt like 4k was a no-brainer.

Wow! Good for you on that warranty! The most warranty my dealer said was available when we originally drew up the agreement was 8 years at 75K miles at just at something over $3K. I am traveling to Michigan in the morning to pickup my Jeep Wednesday, 19th of May and I will see if I can negotiate to buy an upgrade to the higher milage warranty.

It appears the 392 Jeeps are arriving in better shape at the dealers now. Very likely it was just the few stored during the winter months waiting for delivery after Jeep Safari.

Mine was delivered with 10 miles on it and all the plastic protecting the interior pretty much in tact. The dealer did clean it all up and performed whatever pre-delivery services/checks were required prior to letting me pick it up last Wednesday.

And this, is how they should arrive. Congrats!

Good deal on the warranty! I would never pay for any car warranty unless it was free! Lol

I just heard from a large dealer they drive them to 10 miles. the air bags are activated at the 10 mile mark. can not verify but another piece of the puzzle. Also two larger dealerships i have talked to say the units which have come in all have almost the exact same mileage based on the dealership location and potential misc mileage in transit which makes sense. who knows?! Smaller dealers who gets a few units have no way to judge the mileage. all unknowns

41 miles was on mine and the dealership did an exterior detail the morning they got it. I have one small chip in the fender they are going to repair, otherwise it’s immaculate.

Mine delivered with 12 miles and super clean. Pensacola, FL dealer Will Morin (850 503 8117) has 6 more allocations available at MSRP but has to show as sold with customer name.
funny im in florida tried to buy from them a week ago and wanted $5K markup on ordered units.

Okay,
Finally figured out how to work the camera settings on my new phone to avoid taking "live photos" so here are some teaser shots of the 392 Rubicon I picked up the week before last. The boxes filling the entire back seat and cargo area are the half door components of the dual door option. You can probably guess why the dual top and dual door option are not available together on the same vehicle.

I'm curious about the condition in which the 392s arrived at the dealer? How many miles were on the odometer? Please share your experience.
My Billet Silver 392 arrived 2 June, clean off the truck with 9 miles on the odometer
