Bronco Fit & Finish

I saw my first Bronco Wildtrack Sasquatch up close today and took a few photos. My thoughts:

- The winch looks like an afterthought the way it’s mounted on the front of the bumper.
- The fit & finish of the canvas top was hideous. It looks like a rag top made by the Brits in the 70s.
- The plastic windows sag so bad...don’t try to use them as mirrors...you might scare yourself.
- The Wildtrack Sasquatch emblem was paper thin..it looked cheaply made.
+ I like the Retro look.
+ I like the way the mirrors are attached to the body.
+ I love the color...very classy.

I think replacing the ragtop with a hardtop could make a huge difference in fit & finish look.
Just about hit it in the head. Replacing my soft top this week. Love the ride and extra size though.

Same @Dral97 ... had an FE ordered and dealer promised MSRP. Then decided "due to market adjustments for demand" that they wanted $25K over. I refused because at the end of the day, I don't see ANY bronco worth almost $100k...

But I'm so glad I bailed. IMHO (and again, it's subjective) I don't see a Bronco worth $65k for a first edition, or $45k for a well equipped one. They just failed to impress me, especially on fit and finish, and in person, the look just doesn't do it for me.

@YukonCornelius

Mine was going to give it to me right around MSRP. However, he refused to honor the $100 deposit I had on it. After back and forth he said 'nope, not selling it to you'. I think that happened when he started thinking about it and realized he could probably get $30k over. The J-A actually sent me a mail out advertisement last week. Like I'll ever do any business with him again. I'm still deciding what to write on it before I send it back to him.

Same boat though. It would have been cool to have one of the first ones, but that ship has sailed so the coolness factor is sorta gone, and in the end, I'm happier with a jeep...especially one with a one-touch top to be open air on the fly. I love open air, but live in a place where I can't just leave a top off all the time. I had a Wrangler 75A. Loved it, but I think the hard top was off maybe 3 times over the course of 5 years...Same would have been true of a bronco.

I just sent in my build sheet for a 392 last night (with 1 touch top), so onto bigger and better things...just wish I hadn't missed the XR boat.

The other thing is I'm not a big fan of the Bronco interiors. I swear this isn't sour grapes...I've always thought it since they first released pics. It just looks so plain and dated to me...and this is from someone who still drives a 95 YJ with rotary odo (avatar pic). lol.

...and the instrument cluster- brutal.

Every time I see a Bronco, I’m just underwhelmed and it just makes me glad I took the road less traveled and got a 392.

I just saw a 2 door in my work parking lot yesterday. It looks really front heavy...like the grill is too tall or something. I get it, they were going for the retro look with it.

I think the 4 doors look more balanced. I do in general like the way the 4 doors look. As someone else said, I saw one sideways when I was driving down the road and thought it was a jeep for a second.

I think to get the balance on them right if they were going for the retro look, they needed to make the rear/roof bigger than it is. I get that is difficult from a design standpoint because people today aren't going to go for big honkin roof they have to take off...or 100 yards of soft top fabric to deal with...though it sounds like the current ones already have 100 yards of fabric to deal with. lol
