I’m 21.5in to the bottom of my Borla tips. I’m on 37in Nitto Trail Grapplers on a 2.5in RockKrawler lift. Definitely not tucked in as much as the AWE but better than stock….especially the trash can muffler.

Is it just me...does the factory system have a deeper tone, when valves open?
Too bad couldn't get sound comparison of AWE inside his garage, similar to factory sound at beginning of video.
To be fair, it sounds like phone mic may have been closer to exhaust yielding a louder/closer sound than AWE recording.
Could be helpful if we could get another short audio/video clip with Jeep inside garage, with AWE exhaust and up closer to exhaust.
But, great install video. Very informative. AWE does look better from rear.
On the ATAK Borla? No… I was in “quiet” mode upon cold start up the other day. It scared the mom across the street walking her two toddlers. One started crying and the other gave me a thumbs up. Mom just gave dirty looks as if I revved it at her.Is quiet “happy neighbor” mode still quiet?

Quiet happy neighbor mode isn’t quite as quiet. I would say it’s slightly quieter than the stock loud mode.Is quiet “happy neighbor” mode still quiet?

Thank you for your work. I'm sure black coated AWE exhaust wouldve been lighter but ohh wellGot the stock exhaust off today 65.48 lbs

I had to stack up all the parts to the AWE 70.86 lbs

I checked my scale with a gallon of water beforehand and got a weight of 8.39 lbs.
I’m surprised as well, but maybe it has something to do with having multiple pipes that overlap, requiring extra materials?Got the stock exhaust off today 65.48 lbs

AWE claims they use .065”-wall T304L stainless steel, which is 16 gauge. I’m wondering if the Mopar exhaust has a thinner wall say .049 resulting the weight difference?Got the stock exhaust off today 65.48 lbs

Thanks for measuring!Stock exhaust outside is 2 3/4 inches.

AWE outside is 3 inches. Larger pipe and possibly thicker would be my bet on an extra 5 lbs.

Thanks for the data! AWE uses 3" tube on most of their products, sometimes 2.5" on smaller applications.Stock exhaust outside is 2 3/4 inches.

I believe that’s their “polyphonic” technology:The Borla X pipe (more of a split double Y pipe really) is a work of art. Not sure if it works or sounds any better, but it's cool.
Guys, I looked into the exhaust systems a bit more. The stock system uses the X-pipe while the AWE chose the H-pipe. Borla, MagnaFlow, and aFe they all use X-pipe. In general, X-pipe will deliver a more high-pitched exhaust note, whereas an H-pipe gives a deeper tone. And X-pipe will usually make a few more horsepower than an H-pipe from my learning, because the way the X-pipe creates a venturi effect, which helps pull the exhaust gases out of the cylinder faster.
Just out of curiosity, @Josh/AWE can you chime in and give us some more educational explanation? I wanted to fully understand the design and pros/cons before I spend nearly 3 grand. I really like the AWE design and the quality.
